question

Can you store 4K, XAVC and AVCHD video files?
Asked by: John C.
Hi John I don't have a camera that takes 4K quality so am unable to help in that way. I do love the fact that I don't have to be on the lookout for an internet caf where I can dump photos off of my card when traveling around. The toggle switch I find a little frustrating at times, its not positive to operate at ease. The screen too is maybe too small to be of any use. Colin

question

Is this compatible with a Mac computer using OS X 10.11?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, the internal HDD on the Nexto is formatted to exFAT file system, which is read & write compatible on both Windows and Mac systems. I use my Nexto sometimes just to transfer files between my home PC and employers Mac.

question

can the files be transfer to another external drive for storage and then be reformatted to be reused when full?
Asked by: Debora M.
You can copy images from the NEXTO 2901 to an external hard drive, I have done this many times. I don't know about the reformatting but you could certainly delete the images on the NEXTO. The way the backup to the external works is that the NEXTO compares the files on the NEXTO to those on the external drive and just backs up any new files on the NEXTO to the external (i.e. a differential backup). I'd leave the original files on the NEXTO until you offload the files to your main computer (external drives can fail too!)

question

How many RPMs for the internal drive on the 500gb HDD model?
Asked by: Anonymous
The manufacture does not list the rpm speed in the manual. The units speed will be limited to the data transfer rates achievable with USB3 or the memory cards used.

question

Can you attach a memory card reader so you can import XQD cards?
Asked by: Nick S.
No, it doesn't. I tried, got an error message and a web search showed that XQD backup won't work with this model. The NVS series will work for this but is more expensive.
