The Bosch D8229 Access Keypad comes in a steel enclosure and sends output in a Wiegand 26-bit format. A Personal Identification Number (PIN) needs to be entered to obtain access. There are total 12 keys including numbers 0 through 9, number symbol (#), and asterisk symbol (*). Each time you press a key, one of the LED indicators emits a red light and an annunciator emits a beep.
The D8229 Access Keypad installs easily in a US-standard single-gang switch box. For outdoor applications, use a suitable weather-resistant back box (available separately).
Two LED Indicators
The D8229 Access Keypad has two LED indicators. One of the LED emits green light to indicate access granted. The second LED emits red light to indicate the door is locked or whenever a key is pressed.
The D8229 Access Keypad has a steel enclosure. The electronic components are embedded in a protective material. These properties make the D8229 Access Keypad resistant to damage from moisture, harsh weather, and vandalism.
The access keypad can be placed away from the door controller at a distance of up to 500' (152 m) when using a 1.2mm (18 AWG) cable.
