The MGW Pico Low-Latency H.264 AVC SD Encoder and Streaming Appliance from VITEC is a portable multi-channel H.264 AVC appliance that enables low-latency delivery of SD video over IP. This pocket-sized, portable appliance features no moving parts and delivers a diverse range of video/audio inputs to support any type of IPTV, FMV, and ISR applications. It features an SD-SDI and a serial RS-232 interface. This standalone encoder has a low power consumption of under 5W and is offered with an enclosure or as board-only, making it suitable for integration projects, particularly in portable and demanding applications such as manned and unmanned airborne platforms or live-field broadcasting.
With a processing power of up to 5 SD channels from multiple video sources or a single input with up to 4 secondary streams, this MGW Pico Encoder supports a video capacity of any small form factor and professional-grade H.264 encoder. Thanks to the TurboVideo IP streaming technology, the encoder distributes standard-definition video sources across the enterprise network and to remote sites. This SD encoder disseminates IP video at broadcast-quality resolutions at variable bit and frame rates.
A built-in video matrix and scaler enable frame rates and resolutions of incoming feeds to be scaled and a single video source to be routed to multiple compression cores for simultaneous encoding at up to five different resolutions and frame rates. This encoder offers real-time embedded video and metadata engines that provide the reliability and resilience necessary to operate in harsh environments.
With the MIL-STD Certification, the unit is optimized for mission critical ingestion and dissemination of Full Motion Video (FMV). The unit supports Cursor-on-Target (CoT) and Key-Length-Value (KLV) metadata and generates MISB/STANAG compliant streams.
Featuring hardware-based AES encryption module, this portable encoder can be used to provide a secure end-to-end IP video delivery solution in conjunction with EZ TV and FITIS IPTV Software Systems or with the MGW Premium Decoder appliance that support AES decryption capability. An image stabilization chip incorporated into the encoder enhances viewing quality in real-time and reduces bandwidth utilization when streaming motion-intensive content.
