camRade CAM-WS-PXWX160-180 overview

  • 1Description

Protect your professional camera from inclement weather with the camRade wetSuit. Specifically designed for the Sony PXW-X160/X180, the wetSuit protects your camera without inhibiting access to the controls or LCD monitor. The wetSuit is made of near-silent fabric that helps keep unwanted wind and rain noise at bay, and has openings that reduce the chance of the camera overheating by allowing hot air to escape. The wetSuit uses zippers and elastic fasteners to enclose and protect your camera in a weatherproof wrap while critical components, such as the lens opening, viewfinder, and microphone, are left unimpeded. This design provides your camera with the necessary cover while keeping image and sound quality mostly unaffected. Once the weather clears up, the entire wetSuit can be folded down and packed into the included waterproof zippered pouch.

    camRade CAM-WS-PXWX160-180 reviews

wetSuit for Sony PXW-X160/X180 is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Camrade wetsuit - well made, but slow to fit There are few brands of camcorder wetsuit. This one from Camrade, I bought for my Sony X180. It is well constructed, of strong materials, but there are issues in using it. There are so many zips, velcro and flaps, it takes a while to sort out what does what and how it fits. Even after a few tries, it takes me a while to get it onto the camera. It would be much easier if the bottom zip came apart so that you could drop the whole thing over the camera if there was a sudden shower. As it is, the camera will get wet and I would have to stop shooting while I fitted the various portholes and velcro in the right place. The lens hood draw string part could do with some sort of rubberised lining to stop it slipping out of position. Once in place, I am not sure that the hood over the fan outlet will allow good airflow, particularly during warm summer rainfall.
