The heli-optimized 18MZH 18-Channel 2.4 GHz Computer Radio System
from Futaba is a transmitter (radio controller) that can be programmed for use with helis, multi-rotors, planes - just about any models you can imagine. The transmitter features 18-channels and supports receivers with the FASSTest, FASST, and S-FHSS protocols. The "H" in the model number indicates that the throttle gimbal is smooth rather than ratcheted, which is considered the preferred arrangement by many heli fliers.
The programmable computer is able to store settings for up multiple models internally, and this memory can be expanded using an SD card available separately. To access the menu to change settings or view data from the aircraft (where supported) there is a 6" color touchscreen display. The transmitter is configured for Mode 2. Mode two is the most common in the U.S., however users in other countries may be accustomed to a different Mode. In Mode 2, roll and pitch are controlled with the pilot's right hand while yaw and throttle are controlled with the pilot's left hand.
Bi-directionally compatible with FASST and S-FHSS receivers
18-Channel Radio System
Use as many - or as few - channels as you want:
You can operate on up to 8 channels using the 8 standard PWM inputs. Servo options are wide open, ranging from simple analog to S.Bus and S.Bus2 servos
You have access to up to 18 channels (16 proportional plus 2 digital) through the 18MZ's two S.Bus2 ports. That means simpler, more foolproof setup and full support for S.Bus and S.Bus2 servos
The transmitter includes versatile "internal memory". Not just for model/setup data; it can also be used for sound and picture files - including images captured by its internal camera
In case the built-in memory doesn't provide enough storage, there is also an SD card slot - SD cards available separately
Built-In 0.3MP Camera
No need for a digital camera or even a smartphone. Just point the 18MZ, click and you have a foolproof picture ID of your model in seconds
6" Touchscreen Display
A 640 x 240 resolution display allows you to view flight telemetry data, photos taken with the camera, programming settings, and more. Its touch interface provides an intuitive means of navigating through the menus
Use the USB interface to plug in a flash drive or connect a keyboard or mouse. It also enables you to download telemetry data to a computer for storage and reference
CIU-2 Serial Interface
This Futaba-proprietary interface offers a stand-alone connection for programming the travel, endpoint, and other functions of S.Bus and S.Bus2 servos
Adjustable Gimbal Angles
First introduced on the 14MZ, the adjustable gimbal angles feature is included in the 18MZ as well. It's more than a comfort/convenience feature - it allows you to customize your control setup for greater ease and precision
7.4V, 3500mAh LiPo transmitter battery included
Includes R7008SB receiver
