Grado SR125e overview

  • 1Description

The black SR125e Headphones from Grado are made from Grado's proprietary SpaceBlack polycarbonate material, which was designed to reduce secondary impulses and transient distortion. They feature an ultra-high purity, long crystal (UHPLC) copper voice coil wire along with an 8-conductor cable design. Grado employed a de-stressing process on the SR125e's diaphragms to enhance detail in playback. A 1/4" adapter is included.

    Grado SR125e reviews

SR125e Headphones (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these headphones, 2x Customer I use these for my home studio and bought them to replace my 30 year old Grado SR80's! Grado has made great headphones forever! These are open backed headphones (you can google the difference) so they don't block out ambient noise the way closed backed headphones do but they sound very natural. Some things to be aware of: The cable on the SR125e is twice as thick as my old SR80s and adds a bit of downward weight to the headphones. However the thicker cable gives a more robust sound so it's a trade off. Also the foam pads wear out over time and have to be replaced at $ to $ a shot (depending on which style replacements you buy). That said, these headphones sound tremendous!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality! I had the grado 60s before and one of the speakers popped. I like grados quality so I did some research and this one seemed to fit. Amazing quality. They are open ear, so its best to be in a quiet room when you use them if not you'll have to crank the volume and you may still hear the background noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound and good price. I listen to music of many types on a laptop, iPad, and iPod. These headphones sound great which I appreciate when listening to music in lossless format. I'm very pleased to get this quality at this price. My biggest con is that the chord is very stiff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pure Grado... No frills... I already have the Grado SR 225 e headphones, and the SR125 e's surprised me... Voiced just a shade differently, but pure Grado sound... Use both for evaluating my recordings... Like them much better than supposedly flat "pro" headphones...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just fantastic... I have the M40X by Audio Technica, and those are very flat... As for the Grados 125's the sound is very pure, something very distinct and amazing above all I have listened to... Love them!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoy the ride I will start by writing that the Grado SR125e Headphones are excellent for the price. They're clear, smooth, balanced and have a punchy low end. I would say 95% of the material (music/genres) I listened to on the Grados sounded great, even straight from the iphone via Apple music. I heard details in the music that I never heard before when using the standard cr-Apple in-ears. However, with certain music, you can start to hear its limitations. As for the exterior materials, yeah, they're not great, but the money goes into to what counts: the inside. This model gives you the best bang for your buck. Retro looking...yes, but I dig it. I wouldn't say these cans are the most portable, but if you are going to a coffee shop to find your creative mojo, these will work fine. I demoed the Grado sr125e with the Audeze Sine, via the new Fio x7ii, and was surprised to find that the Grados held their own. The Sine is a bit brighter and maybe a bit more refined in sound. The 125e at a third of the cost did quite well. Just some food for thought. The only problem that you will have is, you will want to explore the headphone audio world more and more, trying to experience audio nirvana. It is really a rabbit hole. I am now looking into high res DAPs, headphone amps and a headphone upgrade. Yes, I've now got the headphone audio bug. So, try these and enjoy the ride!
