    Grado SR325e reviews

SR325e Headphones (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grado SR325e - What Clarity My PhD is in acoustics and sound reproduction has been a passion for many decades. I know that my hearing has dropped a few db in the high range, but I am fully able to appreciate broad dynamic range. These headphones brought me right to a laugh - I heard nuances that were new to me in recordings I have studied. I held off buying new headphones since I have the well-known other New England devices. What a difference - sound extraction without mixing. There is no mud in these plates - the pure clarity of strings - many strings - many octaves - all speaking as individuals. I could not hear any nonlinearity or mixing in even very dynamic sections. This is the best sounding headphone I have heard!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Headphones!! I am a professional classical musician and an avid listener of recordings for pleasure and study. I looked for quite some time for a pair of headphones that would be an honest representation of my work in the field and while I was willing to spend $ for a pair of high end headphones, in my research I discovered the Grado SR325e's. Having tried everything from Sennheiser and Audeaze amongst many others, I kept coming back to these. I also wanted something that was fairly portable and that I could use on the road. These have really become my go to headphones since I bought them a few weeks ago. I have enjoyed them every time I listen to symphonies, chamber music, opera, piano solo works and even pop and rock music. The soundstage on these for being so small is excellent and while I usually end up just plugging them directly into my MacBook Pro, a headphone amp like the Dragonfly gives them an extra boost. But, honestly it isn't needed. They are equally impressive with iPhone/iPod use or Home Audio use. And, the best part is the price. You can't beat it for what you get. The only hang up is that because they are open back headphones, you will want to listen to them in a quiet room. Since I am usually on the road for engagements, I can enjoy them in the silence of my hotel room at any time. But, I can't recommend them highly enough. Orchestral textures and balance are clear, realistic and the middle is warm. Lows are present enough without sounding unnatural or pumped. Highs are clear without being excessively bright. Try them... you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommendations Hello! Ok so definately buy from BH Audio, the service and the shipping quality and time is perfect. Alrighty, so I decided to purchase these specific headphones for a number of reasons. First, I mainly listen to 60's rock (Beatles, Dylan, Creedence, Doors, Hendrix, Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Velvet Underground, Zeppelin, Stones, Pink Floyd) and these suit that music perfectly. The reason is because it is a dynamic type of headphone and no other headphone no matter how sophisticated and high tech can give you the slam, energy, impact, and just raw power of a dynamic headphone. Second Grado is already known for being the best headphones for rock music no matter the headphone. Third Grado has models ranging from about $80 to $1700 but I find these to be the best for rock music, the reasoning is because the plastic models just sound dull, the wooden ones sound too smooth and soft (you want some aggressiveness when you listen to rock) and because of the L-cush pads they bring in a more intimate soundstage as if you are right in front of the band rather than the G-cush which makes it like you are a couple of rows from the stage. I personally love that big bold aggressive sound that is in your face because you just want to crank it up and jam. Ok so now some recommendations, I paired these headphones with the Schiit Magni 2 amp and Modi 2 DAC (which by the way is great because the whole setup is made in USA and the silver tone colors of all three components just make it look so sleek and industrial grade, which by the way they are all built like tanks) and again the reasoning for this is because I find solid state to give more impact, energy, slam and aggressiveness that tubes just cant do as well. This setup is natural and less digital, it is smooth but never soft, and never fatiguing. I highly recommend to break in this setup at a little higher than normal volume overnight for 10 hours a day until you get to 100 hours because it makes the sound way smoother, it is real

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Sound Bak Ear Cups The sound quality of the Grado SR325e headphones is clean, clear, just beautiful. Unfortunately I could not wear them for very long (20 minutes at the most)before the ear cups started to heart my ears. I can't believe Grado put so much effort into creating these wonderful sounding headphones only to spoil it all by using what seems to be Styrofoam for ear cups. What a disappointment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Music never sounded so good! I've long wanted to invest in a proper set of headphone, and when I came across an article on Grado's products, I knew that I'd found the right manufacturer. As I suddenly needed to order a pair on short notice, and as I'd heard that Grado's direct shipping could take up to two weeks, I took a look to see if B&H had them in stock, and I received them in no time. I normally don't order audio gear without testing it first, but one review mentioned that SR325e had slightly more treble than the other headsets, I jumped on the chance. I have som minor high-frequency loss and often find that I need to nudge the treble up on my sound systems and amplifiers to get that perfect sound, but with these headsets, I'm a happy camper. As a studio music producer, these are wonderful for recording and mixing. The only drawback is that the sound bleeds outwards, so they are not ideal for overdubbing, as the playback music can bleed into the microphone. But that's ok with me, as I use them for my own monitoring and the musicians I'm recording can use another tighter set of cans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply speaking... breathtaking! I was waiting and waiting for this headphone to be in-stock on B&H. I called Grado and they informed me that the phones were on backorder due to band shipment delay from California. So then I saw a dealer near my house and just went for it and glad I did it. Currently listening to Ana Caram and the reproduction is simply, stunning. I thought it was my Cowon Z2 but I am hearing things I have never heard before, and even playing back some movies, almost like I am actually there present with the actors/actresses. Hard to describe in mere words. All of these years, I have been missing all this? Why I did not buy the Grado 10 years ago when a coworker told me about it? Why did I wait so long... but the wait... was well worth it. If you're thinking about it, stop, and just get it! One note; this phone comes in 1/8 mini plug, and all you need is a 1/4 adaptor if you want to plug it into non-portable device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cost effective and excellent sound reproduction Compared to other headphones costing much more ,these Grados will reproduce complex musical passages with better definition,. greater dynamic range without listening fatigue. Opera lovers will be impressed how well the voices are reproduced. When connected to a Sony Walkman, they make an excellent sounding travel companion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I previously had the Grado 80e. I thought those were good. I got the 325 headphones and it was a revelation. The stage openen up, a veil seem to have lifted. Detail seems to come through that was there but not noticed before. These are wonderful and highly recommended.
