    Grado GS-1000E reviews

GS1000e Headphones (Black and Mahogany) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Grado Headphones I've Tried I have owned sr325e headphones for several year. I bought the GS1000e cans as an upgrade. I was happy with the improvement but not thrilled. PROS: Efficient - no amp required for use with most players Great cable Light weight (lighter than I expected) CONS: Limited adjustability - same as all Grados Uncomfortable foam pads - ears touch in several places Where's the bass? Like all Grados, these headphones are very musical. Voices are upfront and crystal clear. Hi end is smooth with little sibilance. I was only mildly disappointed with a couple of attributes. I perceive these as 1) bass frequency attenuation and 2) average dynamics (that I think of a 'punch') compared to some other high end cans I recently auditioned. The Gs1000e's are accurate and faithful. They just lack the total excitement I am looking for. Therefore I give them 4 out of 5 stars

Rated 4 out of 5 by from needs alternate ear pads Right out of the box the sound is fantastic even at low levels. Some pro reviewers say it gets even better after 100 hrs of use... I can't wait! the only downside: It seems the ear pads rest against a larger area of your head than other brands. I'm concerned they might be too warm at times. The pads are easy to slip off. I wish they sold replacement pads that would match the fit of my old Sennheiser HD595's.
