Is the Lever clamp locked or without such an security (meaning it can be simply pulled/pushed open by accident) ? ( Desmond DLVC-50 Lever Clamp B&H # DEDLV50 MFR # DLV-50 ) Thank You so much fr answer.
The DLVC-50 Lever Clamp will not accidentally open easily, but No, there is Not a Locking System or Safety Release on the Lever, so if the Lever got caught or snagged on clothing, plants or bushes, etcetera, it *could* be released. However, it is very unlikely with the way it is designed and also being tucked very closely underneath the base of your camera or lens mounting area. Hope this helps. Billy B.

Is the Desmond DLVC-50 Lever Clamp compatible with the Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Video Head with Flat Base (with the 500PLONG Quick Release Plate)? I'm asking because I have a special Arca-Swiss quick-release plate on my camera which is proprietary to my camera strap system (Peak Design Slide and Clutch). I would like to purchase that Manfrotto Head and a Tripod but I don't want to have to remove my QR Plate to use the tripod.
Yes, you can put the DLVC-50 Lever Clamp onto a Manfrotto MVH500AH / 500PLONG Plate via one of the 3/8 screws that come with the tripod. (As well as nearly any other video tripod head / tripod plate.)The only tricky part could be is if you have a wide camera as you might have to squeeze your fingers in between the camera body & tripod head to lock / release the clamp.
