Short time in service- then lost in the field

There are no words to describe the feeling of losing this AR-11 Soft Shutter Release in the heat of the battle. But it did happen while on a photo assignment. Tried to look for it, but it was like a needle in a hay stack. Called B & H Photo talked with a sales professional to see how to keep this Shutter Release from coming off. problem solved once again by the great B & H Photo staff. Yes ordered another one.

These are not inexpensive. Is there a secret to preventing their accidentally unscrewing and getting lost? Yet, still being able to remove them when you want?

One drop of loctite (blue). This will be difficult to remove, but not impossible and will prevent accidental unscrewing.

Is this supposed to screw down flush with the ...

Is this supposed to screw down flush with the shutter release button? My sample does not screw all the way down flush and you can see a 1/16" of the tapered stem, and the new button is raised up above the shutter release.

No these are not supposed to screw down flush, it is supposed to be raised up a bit to allow it to be easier to press the shutter button my distinctly.

At this writing Nikon lists that the Nikon AR-11 Soft Shutter Release only works with the Nikon Df D-SLR camera.

The Nikon AR-11 Soft Shutter Release will work on any Nikon camera with a threaded shutter release socket on the shutter release. The Nikon Df and the Nikon Zf are examples are modern cameras that have the port and most older Nikon film cameras also have this port. Most DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras do not have the needed port on the shutter button.

This is made for a threaded shutter release. The Nikon Shutter Release Button is not threaded. This will not work.
