  • 1Description

The P TG 3610 D Testor Multi-Format SD/HDSDI Video & AES Audio Test Generator Package from Lynx Studio Technology includes the Testor Test Generator (D version), in-line AC power supply, IEC power cord, USB service adapter, USB cable, CF memory card, and custom Pelican transport case to store all the components.

The P TG 3610 D Testor is a versatile multi-rate video and AES test generator that can generate video test signals in SDTV (525 / 625) or HDTV (1080i/p/psf and 720p) formats. It provides 2 independent simultaneous video outputs, each of which can have an independent user defined character overlay. In addition, it provides 4 channels of external balanced AES (via a D-Sub connector) plus embedded audio with adjustable frequency, audio gain, and selectable momentary pause (silence) for left and right channels. Using the AES output requires the separately available R AC M15-4 Audio Breakout Cable that has 4 male in-line XLR connectors.

This flexible multi-format genlock input with cross lock capability and fully adjustable timing allows signals to be fed into any part of a digital multi-format system. Reference sync output plus word clock reference outputs are also provided.

The Testor features an integrated display and menu system for local control and setup. All settings are stored in flash RAM that can survive power cycles and long-term storage. Additional test patterns can be loaded via the included Compact Flash card. You can also load your own patterns in the standard DPX file format.

Multi-Format Operation
Allows you to choose from SDTV (525 / 625) or HDTV (1080i/p/psf and 720p) formats
Two Simultaneous Digital Video Outputs
Each output can have a different test pattern assigned from the internal test pattern library.
8-Channel Audio Test Generator
8 independent digital audio channels are provided (20- or 24-bit). These are arranged into 4 AES groups, each with left and right channels. Each channel has fully adjustable gain (0 to -60 db FS), test tone frequency (20 Hz to 20 kHz in 1 kHz steps), adjustable phase, and selectable momentary pause (silence).
Comprehensive Test Pattern Library
An internal library of static standard test patterns is included. Dynamic patterns, including a real-time zone plate generator IRT audio synchronization pattern and LCD panel persistence test are also included.
Integrated Compact Flash Slot
Additional static test patterns can be loaded from the included CF card or you can load your own patterns in the standard DPX file format.
Genlock with Cross Lock and Input Timing
Flexible reference input allows the Testor to genlock to SDTV analog bi-level sync or HD tri-level sync sources (auto detect standard). Cross lock capability allows a SDTV reference sync input to generate a genlocked HD tri-level output sync (and vice-versa). Input timing adjustment of one frame is provided adjustable in lines and pixels so the Testor can be genlocked and timed into any system installation.
Word Clock Reference Output
A 48 kHz +5V TTL word clock reference signal is provided for audio applications that require an external reference. Both the video sync and word clock outputs will free-run with no reference connected and can be used as a sync reference source. With reference sync presence, all video / audio / sync and word clock outputs are frequency locked to reference.
Character Overlay for Source Identification
22-character overlay with selectable font color, background color, and screen position is provided. Separate character generator is provided for each of the two video outputs.
Integrated Display for Control and Configuration
The device's simple monochromatic display shows the selected test pattern for each output as well as the on-screen menu and control selections. Control and setup are simple using the integrated rotary / push switch control knob.
Integrated CPU with Flash RAM
All settings made to Testor are automatically stored in the internal flash RAM that can survive power cycles and long-term storage. No loss of module settings will occur should the AC power / battery fail or if the module gets accidentally disconnected
PC Interface for Control and Configurations
As an alternative to the integrated local control it is also possible to use the included USB Service Adapter to program and control the Testor using a standard Windows PC or laptop. The on-screen GUI simplifies Testor configuration, setup, and control. The settings are stored into the internal flash RAM.
Flexible Power Options
Depending on the application, you can choose one or all of the available power options for Testor. You can use the included AC power supply or re-chargeable battery belt back (available separately). The Anton Bauer battery adapter (available separately) allows using any standard camera Anton Bauer battery. The XLR Power Adapter for any battery (9 to 15 VDC) is also available separately.
Simple Future Upgrades
Any additional features, future firmware revisions or bug fixes can be programmed into the Testor (requires sending the unit to a Lynx service center).
