The AC3200 Nighthawk X6 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router from NETGEAR features 802.11ac tri-band Gigabit Wi-Fi performance providing one 600 Mb/s data stream on the 2.4 GHz frequency and two 1300 Mb/s data streams on the 5 GHz frequency. These data rates can be combined to offer up to 3200 Mb/s performance when used with 802.11ac compatible Wi-Fi devices.

Along with enhanced Wi-Fi performance, the Nighthawk X6 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and one Gigabit Ethernet WAN port. You can also connect USB compatible devices such as printers and hard drives to either of the USB ports to make them accessible throughout the network.

Inside the Nighthawk X6 you will find a 1 GHz dual-core processor along with 3 offload processors, 128MB of Flash memory, and 256MB of RAM memory. In addition to the enhanced processing power, this router utilizes six high performance external antennas allowing the signal to reach farther than comparable routers. With Beamforming+ technology, that signal can be directed to specific devices for enhanced speed, reliability, and range.

With READYShare technology from NETGEAR, you can stream your media to a variety of devices such as game consoles, media players, smart TVs, and more. Simply insert a compatible USB storage device directly to either of the USB ports found on the back of the router and begin streaming all of your videos, movies, photos, and music. Along with streaming of multimedia content, you can back up your PC directly to an attached USB storage device using the READYShare Vault application.

The Nighthawk X6 features AC3200 speed and performance. With a powerful dual core 1 GHz processor and three offload processors, you can take advantage of Wi-Fi speeds up to 3.2 Gb/s. Nighthawk's tri-band Wi-Fi ends game-lag and multiplies the intensity of immersive, uninterrupted online gaming.
Seamless, simultaneous streaming for multiple devices is now a reality thanks to powerful Tri-Band Wi-Fi and features like Smart Connect and Beamforming+. A beamforming DLNA-ready server and iTunes server add to your media enjoyment, allowing you to play and share your videos and music quickly and easily. And to keep your media both safe and instantly accessible, you can use the free ReadySHARE Vault to wirelessly back up all of your home PCs to the USB hard drive connected to the router's super-speed USB 3.0 port.
Nighthawk X6's Tri-Band Wi-Fi provides more Wi-Fi for more devices. That means more range and reliability for your mobile devices. Nighthawk X6 offers key features to boost mobile connectivity and performance. High-powered amplifiers and 6 high performance retractable antennas help extend Wi-Fi coverage throughout large homes and even backyards, while Beamforming+ focuses Wi-Fi signals for stronger more reliable connections.

    Netgear AC3200 reviews

    AC3200 Nighthawk X6 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Excellent Router! I purchased this router to replace an existing R6300 AC router because I was experiencing some coverage issues in my large home. This router took care of this problem and I bridged the old 6300 router to it. Now all of the PC's in my home are seeing download speeds of 25MB per second and the kids love it! tests were off the charts! This is a great router, easy to install and configure and the update to the latest firmware was easy. Highly recommend this product. Ability to turn off the LED's is a great add on with an easy switch located at the bottom of the unit. No more flickering lights in the middle of the night :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really nice futuristic looking router. I replaced my old NetGear N900 with Nighthawk and can't be happier. I have around 22 devices on my home network and pretty large house with bag backyard. I can't finally stream video/audio from Backyard without worry about signal power. I use both 5Ghz channels as one ( device multiplex between channels by itself ). I was running 5 Gb download and 6 people where watching netflix at the same time and all where running very well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If I had it do over, I would look at another manufacturer Installed the router and immediately had problems with IP conflicts. Resolved that. Television sets (both wired and wireless) would work for approximately 5 seconds and then freeze. A few seconds later the sets would lose connectivity with the router. The wireless laptops had difficulty staying connected. Then, the real kicker! I spent ALL DAY trying to contact someone at Netgear who knew what they were doing. After going through the first-level of support and performing all of the unnecessary gyrations over and over, I insisted on speaking to a senior manager/technician. Of course I was told none were available and I would receive a call back within 30-40 minutes. I would wait and call back and be told the same thing. This happened THREE TIMES and on the third occasion, I insisted on staying on hold until a senior manager would speak with me. After a lengthy time a representative asked to take remote control of my system to resolve the issue. Needless to say, I was finally informed that the brand-new router was defective. I have shipped it back and am awaiting a replacement. Netgear showed no concern that they had taken up my entire day by constantly putting me off until I finally forced the issue. Since I have not been able to use the router, I cannot address its performance. However, I can say, from my experience, that Netgear's support its products has a great deal to be desired. And non-paid support is only 90 days from date of purchase

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent router marred by bad documentation This is a solid, well performing router. It has excellent range and speed - better than my previous Linksys AC router. You can turn off most but not all of the status lights. That's important even if the device is placed in a bedroom closet or the den as the lights are very bright white and can be distracting when watching a movie in the dark or trying to sleep. It can be wall mounted but the antennas do protrude quite a bit. The installation program and instructions are poorly done and this is where they loose a star. In the middle of the installation program, you need to download and install two programs which is a distraction. Right after that, you get a screen with the router names and passwords (that's plural because the three antennas are treated as separate devices and not one router with three channels). The screen after that asks you to input the login and password. If you think the prior screen names and passwords is what they are looking for, you will waste a lot of time trying the different combinations. Instead, you need to look into the instruction manual where they tell you what to put in as the login and password. There is no automatic step that asks you to change the login password or the names of the three antennas and the passwords you will use to log in from your wireless devices. I'll bet that a lot of people will just leave the defaults. There is no easily available explanation of which of the three antennas you should log into or how to make sure that all are available to your wireless device. These are all basic, no cost explanations and software processes that should have been provided and should be available for all of their routers. It's the kind of thing they should have done right the first time a while ago and keep applying it to all their future devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AC3200 By NETGEAR I bought it to replace my older Netgear wireless router which was malfunctioning after 5 years. I connected it to cable modem also by Netgear. Set up was very easy and similar to the older router. Range is great, features are better; so far so good after 2 weeks. What I do not like is the footprint since, unlike the older one, this one sits flat on the desk and occupies a lot of space! Also the most expensive of all the routers I reviewed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the 7000 This was pretty straight forward. I went from the Netgear 7000 to the X6. It seems to have a faster rate and can handle more computers etc. The set up was painless, just follow the prompts and you're set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Router Fixea Problems in WI-Fi System My very extensive home music system stopped working with any Android control points. After seeking help from Netgear, friends and B & H, I bought the AC3200 Nighthawk X6 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router. Hereto fore my home systems used the top-of-the-line Cisco home AC 1900, 2-band router bought from B & H between just 2 to 3 years ago. Suffice it to say, my systems immediately worked again when the new router was installed. Both Netgear and B & H people were extremely helpful and no one tried to oversell the new router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock solid performance I am using all 3 bands of this router (1 x 2.4 GHz, 2 x 5 GHz, where I have both 5 GHz bands set to Smart Connect) and have never experienced any problems. No reboots whatsoever. I am very happy with this router overall. Coverage even for g and n devices has greatly improved, which is awesome. I also saw improvements in the 5 GHz space in terms of coverage. Also like the DLNA and Fileshare Server feature. Mind you that there is a limit as to how many files can actually be shared to DLNA-rendering devices (it uses its internal memory of 128 MB Flash and 256 MB RAM for this service). I was able to get around 11,000 files (mix of Photo, Austio, and Video files) shared via DLNA. The admin GUI (both the web-based one, as well as the Netgear Genie GUI) looks outdated especially when compared to ASUS routers which in my opinion have the best GUI out there. But then, how often do you really need to load the admin, right? In summary, I highly recommend this router as it is easy to set up, operate, and administer.
