FotodioX EX1-NK(G)-MFT-P overview

  • 1Description

Enabling the use of your Nikon F-mount lenses on a Micro Four Thirds camera body, this Excell+1 Lens Adapter from Fotodiox additionally helps to increase the effective maximum aperture of your lens, gain a wider field of view, and maintain infinity focus. By incorporating a light focusing optic into this adapter's design, a magnification factor of 0.72x is applied to render a 50mm focal length lens as a 36mm lens, which then provides a 72mm equivalent focal length in conjunction with the Micro Four Thirds crop factor. This optic also condenses light in order to gain an additional stop of light, which effectively renders your f/2.8 lens as an f/2 lens.

This adapter also features a built-in iris control ring, which allows you to adjust the size of the adapter's iris opening to affect exposure or adjust depth of field. This also facilitates the use of Nikon G lenses, which lack a physical aperture ring in their design. The adapter is constructed from brass and features stainless steel finishing, and a leaf spring design is used to secure the lens in place and to ensure no play between the lens, adapter, and camera body. The adapter is fully manual and does not transmit any electronic functions between the lens and camera, and requires stop-down metering for use.

    FotodioX EX1-NK(G)-MFT-P reviews

Excell+1 Nikon F Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Lens Adapter is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible waste This adapter is gorgeous to look at-- all of the metal pieces are very high quality-- but the glass is absurd. Put a lens on and the images look like they've been smeared with vaseline.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sharp enough to Peak I have been searching for a lower cost alternative to the Metabones Speedbooster. This could have been it, but its just not that sharp until well stopped down. I have three Olympus prime lenses and they all peak clearly on my GH4. Using my sharp as a tack Nikon primes with this unit I can't get the GH4 previews to peak. The resulting image is just not sharp enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Adapter - Especially for the money I know that many photographers/videographers like the non-detent aperture control ring, I find that it is kind of easy to inadvertently move/rotate the aperture ring once set... I would prefer that the aperture ring have detents. I find myself double checking the aperture setting particularly when performing lens adjustments (manual zoom/focus)on the fly. Also, the aperture control ring is fairly sensitive to adjust due to its short adjustment/rotation range. The more expensive adapters appear to have a greater adjustment/rotation range. Even with these minor inconveniences the built-in aperture ring is a great feature. The +1 f-stop feature is very handy for lower light conditions.I am using this on a Panasonic AF-100.As far as the Vaseline smear look mentioned in another review... I specifically tried to replicate it, unsuccessfully, and have not experienced that. I think that B&H would have gladly exchanged the defective item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible image quality This product claims that it will give you an additional fstop. Well, this couldn't be further from the truth. As someone stated in a previous rating, it looks like someone smeared their fingers across the glass of this adapter. Don't waste your time. Just save your cash and buy a Metabones or even better just save up for the lens you really want. Take the money you would have spent on this garbage and put it towards something much better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent quality for the price! I purchased this adapter and used it the same day with a variety of Nikon lenses. I was extremely impressed with the quality of this product. Very sturdy and effective, FotodioX stepped up their game with this one!
