Elmo 1918 overview

  • 1Description

The BOXi T-200 150 Lumen WXGA Mobile Projector from Elmo weighs 10.7 ounces and features a 150 lumen LED light source that, unlike traditional projector lamps, is designed to last the life of the projector - up to 20,000 hours. The single DLP chip delivers a native resolution of 1280 x 800 (WXGA) and the projector can accept non-native resolutions from 480i/576i (NTSC/PAL) up to 1080p Full HD thanks to internal scaling. It is ideally suited for giving presentations to small groups or in-home use, and produces a recommended image size of up to 68" diagonal - depending on ambient light and the projection surface.

Its HDMI input is suitable for a wide range of sources, including computers, smartphones and tablets (with MHL or other suitable adapter), Blu-ray Disc and DVD players, and more. HDCP support means you can also view copy-protected sources such as commercial Blu-rays and certain Internet streaming channels. For audio output there is a built-in one-watt speaker, or you can use the 3.5mm mini jack output to connect headphones or external speakers that have their own amplification.

150 Lumens LED Lamp
A LED lamp provides 150 lumens brightness in Normal (full brightness) mode, and is estimated to last 20,000 hours. To determine the ideal brightness level for your application, you will need to take into account the screen width, distance from the projector to the screen (throw distance), amount of ambient light near the screen, and the reflectivity (gain) of the screen surface used
16:10 Native Aspect Ratio
This projector features a 16:10 native aspect ratio. This is considered a widescreen format, and comes very close to the 16:9 standard of HDTV. This format is ideal if you plan to show HD video, and can still be used for presentations - though in the case of PowerPoints some extra space may be leftover on the sides. The projector can show 4:3 too; however black bars (pillaring) will have to be applied, or the image will have to be stretched or cropped to fit.
True Color Support
True Color refers to 24-bit (8-bit per RGB channel) color, which produces approximately 16.8 million color variations
USB Power Port
A USB type A female port supplies 5 VDC power at up to 2 A, allowing you to power a mobile device such as a smartphone from the projector. This is ideal if you are watching movies or presenting form you mobile device and don't want to wear the battery down

Note: USB supplies power only. To send video to the projector HDMI must be used
Approximately 1:1 Throw Ratio
A throw ratio of 1:1 means the projector can throw an image that is same width as the projector is far away from the screen. For example, at 3.3' (40") the projector will produce a 50" diagonal (42" wide) image
47 dB Operation in Normal Mode
The cooling system produces approximately 47 dB in Normal mode, a figure which drops to 40 dB in the lower brightness Eco mode

    Elmo 1918 reviews

BOXi T-200 150 Lumen WXGA Mobile Projector is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot LITTLE Projector We do a lot of meetings. This projector is a snap to set up, put it on a wall and interact with clients around ideas and info we can put up for everyone in real time. Frankly, I was skeptical that it would be workable. Hey, 150 Lumen? How can that work? Well it works very well. It is much brighter that I expected it to be. Good colors. Quick set up. Fixed wide angle lens so makes a BIG pix close up. It fits easily in my brief case and adds almost no weight. The one slight negative is that the power supply is nearly as big as the projector. Would have been good to figure out how to make that smaller for such a compact portable unit. All in all a very amazing projector esp. for size and price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! This Things Great! This little projector has brought excitement back into my life. At this price and free shipping to Canada it cost almost the same as a 27 Monitor. The first WoT photo is a 90 16:10 diagonal image. The image with Great Gatsby scene is about 110(16:10 projector aspect ratio corner to corner and not the films aspect ratio). The wall is off white and not smooth, I used the game/user settings to counter act this. ELMO should advertise it as capable of 120 + but they are perfectionists mentioning only 68, shows they are a high quality company. The projectors whine was irritating at first but I got use to it, ECO mode even looks good and lowers pitch of fan noise. In conclusion, my old movies will be exciting to watch again at this screen size, an new experience similar to the time I bought a 56 rptv in 2006.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great portable projector. I use this small projector for to take when I am traveling and a larger projector is not available to conduct training sessions. It works very well for projection when the room size is limited and adequate to project on a light surfaced wall. It is bright enough to project in a small setting. It's light enough in weight not to be too much of an extra burden to pack along with other equipment and materials. The slight disadvantage is the power cord and power supply. It adds to the total weight. I have already recommended it to several people.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light weight, clear picture, a bit noisy The good: Light weight, clear picture, plug and play with a Chromecast. The bad: its cooling fan can be a bit noisy at 47dB in a quite room. Alternatives: the AAXA P4-X is worth the extra $ portable and the Optoma X313 is a great stationary choice, both at 30dB. B&H offers both models + Chromecast and has the best price / best customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did they discontinue this model?!?! I have been using the Boxi T-200 since I found them a year and half ago here on B&H for $199. I thought 800p, decent lumens for a pico and around $200.. seems like a great deal. I've used it on business trips and even take it with me when I go camping with an improvised screen setup using lantern stands. Picture quality is great if you compare to other picos.. I play 720p mkvs from an Nvidia Shield and the quality rocks. I just purchased a house and planned on having these setup in every room.. I hope there is a comparably priced / quality replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for the price. This mobile projector is well worth the sales price! You can't expect much from a 150 lumen projector. Use it for impromptu office meetings in conference rooms that don't have a projector. Works okay on an off-white wall, but displays clearer and brighter if your conference room has a large whiteboard. It's short throw so take that into consideration. Room brightness is a factor. As another reviewer mentioned, the projector is very light weight. So much so that the power cord and hdmi cable can move the projector, keep that in mind when purchasing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent projector I've seen my fair share of lamp projectors but this is my first LED based. For the price this little guy is excellent. You do need to use it in a shaded or dark room but once you do the brightness is more than sufficient. The picture is clear and crisp and the throw ratio is impressive. It does have a continuous fan noise but it is not something which is too disturbing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic little projector Using it for art enlargement onto large canvases and for watching Netflix on a big DaLite projector screen. Small, lightweight and and a great image for the money. Needs to be taped down. An HDMI cable can easily move the device. It has practically no weight at all. I use a big loop of gaffers tape and a tape it to a heavy book.
