A built-in driver allows this mouse to be installed without the need for software. The mouse can be personalized and fine-tuned for lift distance, button functionality, and CPI. Many settings can be controlled right on the mouse, like the ExactTech options. Extras like illumination, macros, and more are controlled within the SteelSeries Engine software. The illumination of three different zones on the Sensei (the wheel, the CPI indicator, and the back) can be programmed individually – in 16.8 million different colors. By giving them different colors, you can quickly switch between multiple setting profiles and also know which profile is active. The illumination can be switched off when it is not required.
The Sensei mouse gives you the ability to customize the lift distance via ExactLift. This has a number of practical applications such as allowing you to fine-tune the mouse to your preferred mousepad (not included). Aside from ExactLift, other ExactTech settings include ExactSens, ExactAim, and ExactAccel. ExactSens allows complete control over sensitivity with CPI increments of 1, between 1 to 5,700. This means the mouse offers you true hardware-based sensitivity settings, freeing you of interpolation from game software. ExactAim helps your cursor decelerate, allowing you to focus on your target. ExactAccel does the opposite; it will increase the speed of your cursor movement, allowing for even faster movements.
