    Raynox QC-505 reviews

    QC-505 0.5x Wide Angle Snap-On Lens is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good lens for occasional close quarters I wanted a wide angle lens for use with Canon HF100 HD camcorder. I considered a normal telephoto lens, but it looks like a decent one for high definition video would cost at least $100 and be much larger and heavier than this snap on lens. I plan to snap this on only for shooting video in close quarters, so I can live without zooming out capability while lens is attached.Raynox has reputation for good quality at a reasonable price. The lens arrived on time (as with all my B&H orders over the past 12 years). It clips on and off the camera easilly. I did some test video and photos with the HF100 camcorder, and when I played them back on a computer monitor and a 42 TV I did not see any obvious loss of picture quality. I tried zooming out with the lens installed (not expected to work at all), and found the camera will still focus for the first few percent of zooming out and then it goes all fuzzy as expected. It would be nice if the lens came with a fitted hard case, but I knew it did not come with a case when I ordered it. It came with a very thick ziplock bag just large enough to hold the lens, and I expect it will protect the lens from other thing bouncing around loose in my camera bag. ...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little less focused Gives a good wide angle comparable to newer G lenses. However it is necessary to use the macro setting as suggested but nevertheless the picture/video is not quite as clear/focused as without the lens and also shows a slight reflection of lights. None of this is real serious and probably not noticeable to many average people but many more critical observers WILL notice the difference and the fotog most certainly will.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Increadible Raynox Wide-Angle Lens! I bought this lens because my Canon HF R-20 does not have a very large field of view. The first time I put the lens on, I was in the car, and the view literally went from seeing the windshield and dashboard, to seeing both front seats and part of the ceiling! I was floored. Despite some slight distortion around the edges (expected right), this is a totally awesome wide angle lens! Thank you B and H!!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT The idea was excelent, to provide us with a versatile wide angle lens adapter. The problem is that if you use it with a short camera diameter (27mm for exemaple) if you shoot with a strong source of light behind you, you will get flares on your scene. In my case had an Elura 100 camcorder and almost missed all shooting from a trip that i did. Today a got an cano wide adapter 0.7 X wicht works fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent camcorder accessory I use this lense with my Canon Elura 100 camcorder. The lens easily attaches to the 27mm filter threads on the camcorder. It makes it very easy to record family events in a living room or dining room setting. This lens has very little fish eye distortion on the edges. Unless you are a serious photographer, you would not even notice any distortion at all. This lens is a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product well, I've only been using it for 2 weeks. It seems to be well built. The snap-on is quite convenient and it stays pretty firm. There's slight distortion on the edge of the image but within reason. I haven't had any problems with it so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little lense For the price this is perfect. I use it on my little Panasonic SD camcorder and it fits well in the little belt pouch I carry it in.
