    Manfrotto 22SPK3 reviews

22SPK3 Spiked Feet for Select Manfrotto Aluminum Tripods (Set of 3) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice option to have once you find them! Most of the time there are enough reviews for potential buyers to get the information they need but for these tripod feet I found the information and availability hard to find. First, there are models of the Manfrotto spiked feet that are slightly smaller and do not have the straight edge needed to properly fit the 055XPRO3. So, when you don't know the correct part (22SPK3) you'll come across the other versions with questions about whether they do or do not fit the 055XPRO3 without seeing any reference to this the correct part number. Then, once you find the correct part number you discover that many stores have it as special order or are out of stock so you may have to wait a bit to get these. So getting the correct feet is the hardest part but once you get them they are easy to install. I wasn't sure if they would have the straight edge that lines up with the straight edge on the tripod legs but they do. You first remove the original feet by loosening them with a star wrench and pulling them out. Then you need to extend the bottom tripod poles just a bit and attach the spiked foot by lining up the straight edge and pushing all the way onto the pole. Then secure the screw with the provided screwdriver. Once installed you can adjust the rubber foot to reveal the steel spike or you can adjust it the other way to cover the spike. It looks like the quality is high and I believe these will perform as I expected but I'll know more once I've used them in the kinds of conditions they are made for. My only minor complaint is the price. The quality is good but the price is still a bit too high for what you get in my opinion. If 4.5 stars was an option that's what I would have selected but I can't justify dropping these to 4 stars so 5 it is!
