Sensei LHR-T82 overview

  • 1Description

The 82mm 3-in-1 Rubber Lens Hood by Sensei blocks unwanted stray light from entering your camera's lens to minimize flare and glare. The 3-in-1 hood is extendable and provides three stages of shading. At its collapsed setting, the hood provides shading for 28mm lenses (in full-frame format, 18mm with APS-C format sensors), without vignetting. At its middle stage, it covers lenses up to 50mm (full-frame format, 35mm with APS-C). Fully extended, it covers lenses 70mm and up (full-frame format, 55mm with APS-C).

Additionally, in its collapsed stage the hood protects your lens from accidental impact, and saves space during transport. It attaches to your camera's lens via the threaded internal ring. The hood's ridged interior helps minimize light reflection. The hood's internal ring will accept a 77mm lens cap, which further allows you to protect the lens from dust, fingerprints, and scratches when the lens is not in use. The ideal lens cap to use for this is a center-pinch (push-on) type.

Note: Please note that with the lens hood attached you will no longer be able to use the original lens cap. The hood does have its own internal threads, and a 77mm center-pinch (push-on) type can be used even with the hood attached.

    Sensei LHR-T82 reviews

82mm 3-in-1 Collapsible Rubber Lens Hood for 28mm to 300mm Lenses is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Very well made. Sturdy and well threaded. The price is great, too. And it comes with a lens cap! I know another reviewer said that he got some droopy rubber but mine is fine. I will probably buy a second one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It obstructs the view on my sony 24-70 f2.8 Unless you zoom in it obstructs the view on the outsides a bit. Otherwise it is what it is supposed to be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Decent Rubber Lens Hood I ordered this lens hood with the intention of using it on my Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM Lens, and a few other of my lenses with 82mm filter threads. It just has a few cons, nothing that's a real deal breaker though. PROS: - Very high quality and thick rubber. Feels very durable in the hand, as well as on my lens. - Has metal threads instead of cheap plastic threads. Twisting the lens hood into my lens was very easy with no hassle. - The rubber provides a lot of protection for the end of your lens, as well as any filters that are on it. - You can collapse the lens hood so that it fits nice and snug in your camera bag. Much nicer than storing the non-collapsible plastic or metal lens hoods from lens manufacturers. CONS: - The distribution of the rubber lens hood was very uneven. This resulted in it kind of drooping in a certain direction a little. No matter how much I tried to bend the rubber into a more even position, it stayed true to it's defected form. I'm not sure if I just got a bad copy, hopefully that's the case. That's all I have to say about it, overall it's a good lens hood, not sure if I would buy from the same brand again in the future, but I will be keeping my copy as sort of a backup lens hood if something happens to the one that came with my Sigma in the future.
