Add 500GB of storage to your DVR, PVR, NVR, IPTV, and video surveillance systems with the 500GB AV-GP 3.5" SATA OEM Internal Hard Drive from WD. Designed to withstand the stresses placed on it in a 24x7 surveillance system, this drive features a low operating temperature and is optimized with SilkStream technology which lets is capture data from up to 12 simultaneous HD video streams.

This drive fits into your system's 3.5" bay and connects via the SATA 6 Gb/s interface. A 32MB cache helps to ensure uninterrupted data transfers and the drive's 300,000 load/unload cycles, combined with its 1 million hours MTBF helps ensure the drive will have a strong operational life.

24x7 Reliability
This drive is designed to last in high temperature, always-on streaming digital audio/video environments such as PVR/DVR, IPTV, and video surveillance systems
Compatible
This drive has been tested for compatibility in a broad range of AV products including set top boxes, DVR/PVR, and mainstream video surveillance systems
SilkStream
This drive has been optimized for smooth and continuous digital video playback of up to twelve simultaneous HD streams. SilkStream is compatible with the ATA streaming command set so CE customers can use standard streaming management and error recovery options
NoTouch Ramp Load Technology
The recording head never touches the disk media helping to ensure significantly less wear to the recording head and media as well as better drive protection in transit
Preemptive Wear Leveling (PWL)
The drive arm frequently sweeps across the disk to reduce uneven wear on the drive surface common to audio video streaming applications
Advanced Format (AF)
Advanced Format is a more efficient media format that enables increased areal densities
Reduced Power Consumption
WD AV-GP drives consume less power by up to 40 percent compared to 7200 rpm hard drives. Lower power means less heat and greater reliability
IntelliSeek
Calculates optimum seek speeds for lower power consumption, noise, and vibration
IntelliPower
A balance of spin speed, transfer rate, and caching algorithms that deliver both power savings and solid performance
