Pacsafe Venturesafe overview

  • 1Description

Lightweight and water-resistant, this navy blue Venturesafe 25L GII Anti-Theft Backpack from pacsafe has integrated security features for protection when traveling and holds your 15" Macbook or similar size laptop inside a padded interior sleeve in the main compartment. The backpack offers a three liter hydration sleeve, and you can store accessories inside dual exterior side stretch pockets and an interior organizer inside the front zippered pocket.

The backpack's interior features a map print liner and has dedicated compartments for your pens, keys, and phone. For comfort carrying the backpack, there is a molded foam padded back support, side compression straps, and sternum and waist straps. Padded adjustable Carrysafe Slashguard straps provide support and ease with which to transport the pack, or you can quickly grab the pack using the top grip handle.

Integrated Anti-Theft Security

Carrysafe Slashguard Straps feature a flexible, lightweight, stainless steel wire that is integrated inside for invisibility and effective at preventing theft from cutting the straps
A lightweight eXomesh Slashguard is built into and concealed in the most commonly vulnerable areas of your bag such as the front, bottom, and sides for protection from a quick slash-and-run theft
RFIDsafe blocking pockets and materials prevents your data from falling into the wrong hands by blocking out virtually all transmissions between 10 MHz - 3 GHz, which covers the radio frequency used in e-passports, credit cards / smart cards, and key cards to prevent identity theft of your personal information
Secure zipper pullers attach to discreet security hooks or can be placed under and through a hypalon tab to prevent others from reaching into your bag
To attach your bag to a secure fixture, the Turn and Lock Security Hook on the shoulder straps has a smart hook mechanism which actually locks the hook in place making it harder for someone to steal your bag

    Pacsafe Venturesafe reviews

Venturesafe 25L GII Anti-Theft Backpack (Navy Blue) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made bag The bag itself seems to be well made. Its seems comfortable but I have yet to take it on a long haul. The bag is big enough to carry a camera insert with a DSLR, lens, flash, camera accessories and a few personal items...clothes etc. it's small enough to count as a personal item on planes so I'll be using it as that. I do have issues with the design. First, the adjustment for the shoulder straps sit on top of the shoulders. You can't easily just pull/release the tabs and adjust like you can on other packs. Second, the waist straps are not padded. Overall, I'd still buy it just for the security factor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect travel backpack This is the perfect backpack for travel! Plenty of space to carry my camera & accessories securely. It is a comfortable fit on my back & the straps do not fall off my shoulders. The straps and back are well padded for all day excursion. The main compartment is large with an elastic pocket for a computer. I love the pacsafe brand --- the security is great but most of their packs are too small for my gear--- this one is the perfect size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Worries This is the second Pacsafe that I have bought. The developers really thought this through when they designed the security features. It gives me peace of mind when I’m on the airplane and I want to grab a few hours of sleep. I just lock the contents and additionally lock it around the leg of the seat in front of me—passport, wallet and camera safe—no worries!! I have a RFID wallet so I don’t use the one in the pack but it’s convenient if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go elsewhere thieving dirbags !!! First the shortcomings: It really should have a few more internal pockets and pouches. The website was less complete than I would expect for such an over-engineered product to be blunt. The beauty features & concepts: This pack is beautiful and well thought out. I bought it for a trip to Europe this Summer it should work perfect since it is ok looking at a distance then very nice when looked at in depth and up close. True that nothing is 100% thief-proof, yet this has enough deterrents to help them want to go elsewhere. The 2 horizontal front straps, the RFID blocking pouch, and the stainless steel woven in are just a few of the well thought out features built in. I did NOT get mine for free to write this review, which would have been nice. The pack is 2 - 3 times more money than average due to the engineering and quality materials. I had to go see the product before making the final decision. As noted above, the basics of the feature set on the website just were not enough to get me to buy one. Obviously, I think it is worth more than average day packs made by others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks GREAT, well-organized, safer than most packs This is a review of the "current-in-2017" Venturesafe 25L GII (gen 2) day pack/travel pack. I also have the last generation Venuturesafe 25L. It served me well, but the canvas-style nylon on that one attracted cat fur. This new edition is made with "smooth" (but not annoyingly shiny!) nylon that never attracts fur, and does a better job of repelling rain. Things I like about the new edition: 1. The smooth nylon and the fact that it's not shiny like most other smooth nylons. 2. The "classic" zipper security feature: "steel cable" zipper loops that snap onto a hook under a cover. (The new "Roobar" system on some Pacsafe bags is too visible for my taste, and a little more complicated - the prior system slows down pickpockets enough, which is all I want). 3. The trim weight. The steel cables and mesh wiring in panels are good defenses, but Pacsafe has really lightened them up over their first designs. I always cross-shop Pacsafe against conventional packs, and never feel I am paying a weight penalty for the extra security. 4. Fully lined. Most day and travel packs are unlined to save weight. Pacsafe is necessarily fully lined to keep the wire mesh out of the way, but that makes the pack nicer inside as a side-benefit. How does Pacsafe do that? Since the bag has a security lining, the fabric itself doesn't need to be as thick. 5. Nice "feel". The panels feels supple, not stiff. Only the bottom part of the backpack straps feels stiffer than conventional packs, due to the protective steel cables in them. 6. Nice back panel design - breathable mesh. Thick and stiff enough to keep the bag upright; but not so thick it wastes space. 7. Dual mesh bottle slots, with enough depth to keep most bottles in. 8. Side compression straps. Good for strapping a jacket etc. to the side of the bag (or keeping an umbrella from flopping out the water bottle slot), good for trimming the bag down. 9. Good organization features like mesh zipper panels and phone slots, but not so much it starts getting too complicated or wastes space. 10. Both the exterior convenience panel (about 1" of depth) and the much thicker main compartment have security locking zippers. Main compartment has a SUSPENDED laptop slot for better protection when setting the pack down on a floor. 11. This is SFW - "safe for work" - in the sense that the security aspects are subtle, and the bag is free of larger blurbs. The Pacsafe name and logo are a minimalist black-on-black sewn on flat black rubber patch, which actually looks cool, a huge improvement over Pacsafe's semi-gaudy, self-advertising early days. 12. For several years now, the Pacsafe strap-adjustment mechanism has been a LOT more friendly than it was at inception. In the beginning, strap adjustment was a battle of wits and hard to do once you figured it out. NOW, it is quick and easy. There is STILL more friction in the adjustment than a conventional pack, but the good news is that I've never had a Pacsafe unloose itself and slide into maximum extended strap position on its own. 13. I LOVE THE FACT THAT NO ONE CAN TAMPER MY BAG OVERHEAD. It takes way too much time for the average thief to rob you on a plane or train while you are sleeping. 14. Pacsafe also includes a mechanism whereby I can unlock one shoulder strap, wrap it around something, and relock it. But, I find it overkill, and just use the sternum strap to clip this or any other pack to the arm of a chair next to me. So, tl;dr edition: the ultimate bag for the safety conscious or downright paranoid traveler, but low-key enough for every day use, and good-looking enough for use at an office.
