Coleman G7HD overview

  • 1Description

Waterproof to 33', the VisionHD Video Recording Underwater Goggles from Coleman let you capture underwater adventures such as swimming or snorkeling from your own point-of-view. By placing a Full HD 1080p HD camera beside the lenses, you are able to record hands-free video. The camera also records at the higher 60 fps frame rate in 720p resolution for better motion capture and so you can create higher-quality slow motion effects with editing software (available separately). In addition to video, they can snap 5-megapixel still photos.

Not only are they good for the water, the goggles are also dustproof and can handle freezing temperatures down to -4°F. Additionally, they feature a double anti-fog coating, are shock and scratch resistant, and the camera features a protective UV lens.

On-Board Controls and Vibration Alerts
The glasses are operated from buttons on the side of the frame, and vibration alerts are provided telling you when you successfully start or stop recording. There are two buttons, one for photo and the other for video and power
Wide 135° Field-of-View Lens
The wide angle lens helps ensure what is happening in front of you is also recorded by the camera. It provides 135° in the 720p setting and 120° in 1080p
MicroSD/SDHC Recording
A microSD/SDHC slot will accept cards up to 32GB in capacity (available separately). To transfer data off the card to a computer, there is a built-in USB port
Built-In 660mAh Battery

    Coleman G7HD reviews

VisionHD Video Recording Underwater Goggles is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only goggle camera on the market so far ... so far so good! I wanted a way to document my triathlon swim in Lake MIchigan for my brother who is interested in starting, so I purchased this swim camera. I would have preferred a design that sealed around each eye, but the only other product on the Web was discontinued. For a race, this product would be more discreet than a GoPro or equivalent scuba mask product under a swim cap and less likely to be noticed in the morning hours. Unfortunately, it is still much thicker on the sides than a regular goggle, so I would not try it in an official Ironman with rules against recording. The skirt is thin but seems to have a good seal so far, even with the one thick rubber strap in the back of the head rather than the split straps design of race goggles. I am trying to avoid exposing it to chlorine as much as possible because goggles tend to lose their seals over time (probably will take it to a scuba shop to fix then if needed), but on an initial 1 mile trial of front crawling I experienced minimal leakage. I will be practicing with dry runs. The construction of the goggles also includes some hinges with metal screws between the lens and camera, as well as rubber-coated wires from the camera to the battery, which make me a little worried about roughing up the product too much. I only ended up recording one video and 1 picture in spite of several attempts because I did not carefully read the instruction manual about how to turn it on and identify the multiple on-off buzz durations. (It's not fully intuitive looking at the buttons.) After the swim, I opened the port to retrieve the 32GB microdisc (bought separately) and noted a trace of water along the edge of the sealed chamber, but nothing inside so it probably seeped in as I opened it. The video quality is good, better than anything possible from a spectator. Although clearly not as aerodynamic as regular goggles, I am keeping my fingers crossed it will get me some good videos on race day. For the price though, it will be worth it, even if I later just use it to get some fun shots of the kids training.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Underwater Vision I will be using it under water, I hope the clarity is great like my HERO products. But its nice and sleek
