Ledgo LGB160C overview

  • 1Description

With integrated color temperature adjustment circuitry, the Ledgo 160 Bi-Color On-Camera LED Light can be set to match 5600K daylight or 3200K tungsten ambient light. This feature provides you with the most common color temperatures without the use of filters, saving time while shooting. The color temperature is set with a stepless knob for precise adjustments.

This light features interlocking hardware on all four sides of the panel. In this way more LEDGO 160 panels can be linked to create horizontal and vertical arrays or any configuration that best suits your shooting style. An advantage of this feature is the ability to perform local dimming and color temperature changes for dramatic uneven lighting patterns similar to having a key and fill light.

The LED panel is rated at a CRI of 90+ for accurate color representation, and the output is balanced to range in color temperature from 5600K to 3200K. A 6500K gel is included to match the LED light output to ambient flourescent light. Also in the box are two diffusion filters for softening the light and filling in harsh shadows. The light can be mounted to the top of your camera with the included swiveling shoe mount.

Stepless Dimming
To achieve correct exposure in challenging scenes, you can dim the LED's output smoothly without any ramps in output.
Rechargeable Battery Plates
Built into the fixture is a battery plate which can accept a variety of camcorder batteries like the Sony L Series or Panasonic GCR-D.
AA Battery Box Adapter
Use readily available AA batteries with your LED light when rechargeable batteries or AC power is not available.

    Ledgo LGB160C reviews

    160 Bi-Color On-Camera LED Light is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Promising I haven't had the chance to put this light through the paces but it has some promising features and color qualities. I put the Sekonic C-700 under this light and have attached the outputs (see photos). There are two adjustable knobs, one for each bank of LEDs with a cool bank and a warm bank. Both produce a CRI of 95 or better. I have some LEDs that are better, but for a small portable light, this is quite nice. Since there are two banks of LEDs, full output is not realized unless both lights are on. With both on, the color temperature is about 3600degK. With just the white, you get 4700 (not quite enough to match daylight and definitely not cool enough for shade) while the warm produces 2800degK, a very close match to tungsten bulbs. Along with the nice color output, the box itself has some nice features including interlinking with multiple lights into one unit. Also, it will take Sony batteries directly and includes an adapter for Panasonic batteries and a case for (6) AA batteries. Unfortunately, it will not take the Sony BP-U batteries used on the more professional cameras. I haven't had the chance to subjectively evaluate this but it looks nice so far. The only negatives are the plastic case and knobs which don't instill quality. But for the price, it seems like an excellent value.
