PocketWizard PlusX Overview

The PocketWizard PlusX 2 Pack provides 2 transceivers for a wireless solution to triggering a studio or portable flash unit remotely at distances up to 1600'. It's also possible, using one transceiver on-camera and the other acting as a receiver on your remote flash, to trigger multiple flashes positioned near the receiver using their onboard optical slaves.

The PlusX Transceiver offers 10 channels that are easily navigated via the large backlit channel dial. Auto-Sensing technology allows it to instantly fluctuate between transmitter and receiver duties. The PlusX is fully backward-compatible with all other PocketWizard radios slaves and as well as flash units with built-in PocketWizard reception such as Sekonic, Photogenic, Norman, Bowens, and Dynalite. Sync speeds as high as 1/250 sec. for focal plane shutters and 1/500 sec for leaf shutters are possible with triggering speeds up to 14.5 frames per second. A hot shoe on the unit and a 3.5mm sync port allows connection to devices with or without hot shoes. This specially boxed kit includes 2 PlusX Transceivers, 1 miniphone to miniphone cable, 1 PC cord, and 1 adapter. Two lanyards and an instruction book are also included. I assume the trigger is not camera specific. I want to use with my Fujifilm X100V ?
Asked by: Kenneth
Correct. As long as the camera can be triggered by a single pin port and/or the flash can be triggered by a sync cable, the radio should be compatible.

Are these camera brand agnostic? Planning on using these on my Sony A7II and my Broncolor Strobe Power Packs. That being the case can these also work with Large Format Cameras with PC sync cords to trigger my Broncolors too?
Asked by: Jurgen
The PlusX radios will work with virtually any flash or camera that can be triggered by a hot shoe or sync port, in manual mode, up to the camera's X-sync.

question

Does this product work with TTL for Nikon cameras?
Asked by: Anonymous
The PlusX units are not TTL. For TTL, you would need the Flex and Mini units from PocketWizard (#WIFTT5N and #WIMTT1N).

You would need a miniphone to miniphone male connection for the Profoto D1 monolight. This cable is already included with the Plus X 2 pack.

question

I have canon 550ex. will plus x2 work and what kind of cables and adapters do I need ?
Asked by: Anonymous
You would connect one PlusX to the hot shoe of your camera, and connect the second PlusX to your Canon 550EX Speedlite Flash via the PocketWizard HSFM3 Flash Sync Cable (3'), B&H # WIHSFM3. With this setup, when both units are on the same channel, you press the shutter button on your camera and it would wirelessly trigger your speedlite.
