Designed for DSLRs and any camera with a single 3.5mm audio input, the Wooden Camera A-Box for DSLR Cameras adapts two standard XLR male plugs to one right angle 3.5mm stereo plug. This lets you use professional grade microphones to improve the quality of your in-camera audio recording. The A-Box works best with cameras that allow for auto gain control to be disabled.
The A-Box features a single 19mm rod port for clamping onto an industry standard 19mm rod. A 15mm adapter bushing is included for mounting on a 15mm rod. Also included is a bolt-on 19mm rod and for attaching to any 1/4"-20 threaded hole.
Note: This adapter does not provide phantom power.

Insanely well built
So I picked one of these up used from a friend. I needed a good way of getting a stereo soundboard feed via balanced XLR cables into one of my Sony A6500 cameras for my live streams. I was having too many sync issues routing audio directly into my Roland V1-SDI switching board and embedding at the camera level made more sense. This product is in a high quality aluminum enclosure. All of the internal cabling/connectors are of the highest quality. In all my years doing video I haven't seen this heavy duty of a 3.5mm plug. I mount this either directly to my smallrig camera cage via 1/4-20 or if it is on my camera with 15mm rails, it is easy to connect there as well. Functionally, I have zero issues ever with it. Audio comes in clean as it leaves the board and sounds great even after going through the camera. I can easily hook a vocal mic to my camera and save me time in post having to sync a separate audio source. Overall, handy gizmo to have in your bag. I plan on buying a second in the near future!
Great Solution For Sony A7Sii
This box sounds amazing with the A7Sii. By trial and error, I've found the camera's magic input level is 6 or 7 when receiving mic level from the current Sound Devices mixers. But don't expect the camera's audio meters and the mixer's meters to be apples to apples. While an input level of 6 or 7 on a scale of 31 might seem low, the sound quality is very warm and bright. It can mount to a rail system for tripod work or be attached to a cage for handheld work. It's built very well and has a somewhat low profile. Worth every penny. See photo.
Love it..
Great compact solution for dale audio!
