    Celestron Regal M2 reviews

Zoom Eyepiece for Regal M2 Spotting Scopes is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great replacement piece I did not notice any difference (in any way)from this eye piece vs. the stand eye piece that comes with the Celestron Regal M2 series of scopes. If for some reason you damage your stock piece this makes a great replacement

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Specks above don't show all the great benefits. I was given this eyepiece but I bought a camera for birding from B&H and they have been great. I wrote the below as an answer to potential buyer's question but I think this should also be shown as a customer comment. The above zoom eyepiece is not the eyepiece that comes standard on all three sizes of the m2 scope. It is far better. The apparent angle of view of the standard eyepiece is 40 to 60 degrees depending on what zoom you are set at.To get actual angle of view simply divide apparent angle (the angle your eye feels like it is seeing when you look into the eyepiece) by the magnification your zoom is set on. The above eyepiece is a huge upgrade over the standard. First, the apparent angle is48 to 68, that range equal to the wide angle option on Zeiss and Swarovski scopes. The lens surfaces are fully multicoated (as in the standard zoom) but the multicoatings are Celestron's best XLT found on Celestron's newest top of the line telescopes. These coatings allow close to 98% of the light coming into e This makes the image noticeably brighter, the colors more saturated, and the contrast higher. This is what makes a great image for the viewer, an image now equal to the triple thousand dollar scopes. The eyepiece will work on any spotting scope that has a 1 1/4" receiver. Wider angle of view is desired for birding and game hunting. The brighter images making it easier to see detail on birds and the contrast and color saturation making it easier to locate a hiding camouflaged dear, elk or other prey. In low light the brighter image helps, sometimes the image sharpness the front to make it through to the eye.means nothing if the early morning light levels are too low. Wider angles of view make it easier to locate distant waterfowl and makes it easier to follow them as they swim about. Counting long lines of ducks are much easier with wide angle. In short, get the improved eyepiece. It does make a big difference. Putting this eyepiece on any of Celestron's spotting scopes will offer the same improvements in image quality and angle of view. Great way to upgrade a lower cost scope. When you move up to Celestron's best (Regal, you just move this eyepiece into your new scope.. All of the other qualities of the scope are good enough to give breathtaking images that approach $3,000 scopes. Note that neither the original zoom or the above are waterproof. The scope is sealed forward of the eyepiece and nitrogen filled but the zoom, to keep it easy to adjust smoothly, is not o ring sealed. The main body of the scope is sealed from the receiving chamber's front end through to the front lens.
