PNY Technologies K620 overview

  • 1Description

The Nvidia Quadro K620 Professional Graphics Card from PNY Technologies provides the API support and parallel processing performance required for modeling and DDC applications that involve rendering 3D graphics. The processing power can also be harnessed for other computationally intensive tasks, such as transcoding video or data analysis. It features 384 CUDA Cores, which are general purpose stream processors that not only render display graphics, they also allow dozens of computations to be performed simultaneously. To help move data in and out of the core as efficiently as possible, there is 2GB or RAM over a 128-bit memory interface. All told, the card delivers a memory bandwidth of 29 GB/s.

For connection to computer monitors, HDTVs, projectors, 4K and 3D displays, and more the card features one DisplayPort and one DVD-I dual-link output. The DisplayPort features DP 1.2 comparability for use with 4K displays or connecting multiple screens using an MST hub, and can support HDMI 1.4 as well as HDCP when using a separately available adapter. Through the DVI-I output it is also possible to connect legacy VGA devices using the included VGA adapter. A DisplayPort to DVI-D SL is also included.

Supports Low-Profile PCIe Slots
The card comes with the low-provide bracket installed for installations in smaller computers or client devices. There is also a full-height bracket included
Popular API Support
Supports Shader Model 5.0, OpenGL 4.4, DirectX 11, CUDA, Direct3D, and other APIs to provide software with direct, low-level access to the graphics processing and computational power of the card
Supports DP 1.2 MST Technology
Not only can the card support two directly connected displays, thanks to MST (Multi Stream Transport) technology it is possible to drive up to four displays through the DisplayPort output when using separately available MST hubs
Parallel Computing Capabilities
  • SMX Architecture: a streaming multi-processor design that delivers greater processing power and efficiency than earlier architectures
  • Support for all CUDA 6 features, including Unified Memory, Dynamic Parallelism and Dedicated Shared Memory
  • Programming support for CUDA C, CUDA C++, DirectCompute 5.0, OpenCL, Python, and Fortran
3D Graphics Architecture

  • Data rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176 kHz, and 192 kHz
  • Word sizes of 16-bit, 20-bit, and 24-bit
Nvidia Parallel DataCache
Supports a true cache hierarchy combined with on-chip shared memory. L1 and L2 caches drive exception throughput, accelerating features such as real-time ray tracing, physics, and texture filtering
Ultra-Quiet Cooling System
Virtually silent cooling design enables lower acoustics for an ultra-quiet desktop environment
Additional Features
  • Unified driver architecture (UDA) for simplified deployment and management in an enterprise setting
  • Enterprise management tools
  • Supports HBR2: Allows the data from the DisplayPort output to travel at up to 5.4 GB/s
  • Internal 400 MHz DAC DVI-I output (analog display up to 2048 x 1536 at 85 Hz)

    PNY Technologies K620 reviews

Nvidia Quadro K620 Professional Graphics Card is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unnecessarily frustrating set-up. The card installed easily enough on a quad-core PC running windows 7. The hassle was after installing the drivers and software that my on-board audio was no longer working and the only selection in the audio control panel was the nVidia HDMI audio. Didn't want to run audio through the HDMI port on the new card. I had to Google some tech support answers to find out that the K620 driver had disabled the on-board audio in the computers BIOS panels. How stupid is that. After that issue the card and my on-board audio is working correctly not. My recommendation is the do a custom install of the software and be careful what you let it disable and control.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New Technology at a New low price New Technology at a New low price... 4K resolutions & UltraWide QHD technology (3440 x 1440)require new tech to drive the displays. This card has the New Technology that meets my 4K requirements while not requireing a power supply upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving 4K! There was a bit of trouble to get the drivers loaded, but their support department more than made up for any problems - a real person even answered the phone and walked me through the install process! Finally watching 4K and love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great card for Solidworks This graphics card replaces an nVidia 4000 that died (prematurely, IMO) after 3-1/2 years of light use. The K620 is 1/5 of the cost of the 4000, has as much memory and I've found no degradation in the performance. As a user of Solidworks who works on small to mid-size assemblies, but ofter with complicated geometries, I couldn't be happier. Excellent peformance, great performance/cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NVIDIA QUADRO--Good choice for All Sensible Men I rescued to buy this Card in spite of somewhat disinformation of an official PNY "supporter" by phone: It will not be worked because my HP Pavilion is "already" 7 years old stuff! In the contrary, the Card shows that is easily installed and works pretty well with this desktop. Now I enjoy "picture" provided my new HP Pavilion 7q Display in its full capacity and look forward exploring all possibilities of this small but with great opportunities Graphics Card which the most welcome is incorporated in software.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast but noisy fan Really speeded up my PC. I work in a normally noisy environment, but when it's quiet in the office, the fan seems loud.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with Resolve I bought this to use in a Z440 workstation and wanted to do a dual monitor setup using a 1080P 32 TV along with a Dell monitor. The Nvidia control will not configure the two displays in anything other than clone and Resolve only sees a single display which is really disappointing. My old Macbook Pro 17 allows me to setup up two separate displays so basically this quadro is useless to me. I'd look elsewhere for a dual display setup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Working for Premiere Pro CC I edit video using Adobe Premiere Pro CC. That program calls for a Nvidia GPU which I did not have in my pc. I installed this one with no problem but the pc started slowing down and acting a little erratic. I decided to upgrade the power supply from 350 to 430 and now the system runs fine. My pc has an AMD Eight-Core Processor at 2.81 GHz and 16.0 GM of memory.
