Lens Trekker 600 AW III Backpack (Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, but I wish it was 5 inches longer! I bought this backpack for my 500+tele combo so I could get the camera out faster with out having to attach the camera after removing the lens as it was with my old bag. The camera fits great with the lens and teleconverter attached to it, but if it was only a little bit bigger, I could have the hood in place too, this would make taking the camera out of the bag and ready to shoot in seconds. Now all I have to do is to connect the hood, I hate doing this on the field because I am always afraid that something could touch the glass when installing the hood. Overral, is the best bag in the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Precisely what I was looking for I use this backpack with my Canon EF 500mm, with the 1.4x extender attached. Before I owned this bag, I would carry the lens in a smaller backpack with the camera body and the tripod in two other bags (3 in total). Needless to stay, it was an awkward and frustrating arrangement. With this bag, the whole setup can be easily carry within one secure place. The quality is top notch and with correct usage, I hardly ever feel the weight of the equipment. Do note though that this is way too big to ever be allowed as carryon on a plane

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lens protection, superior shoulder straps - waist belt Plenty of space for a 600mm f/4 lens with a full size camera attached. Two interior braces keep the lens from shifting around while it is being carried. Small outer pocket for a few small items. The padded shoulder straps and padded waist band make the case with the lens and camera very comfortable to carry long distances. The downside to the Lowepro design is that neither the straps nor the waist belt can be removed and they take up a lot of space when the lens is being stored or when it is being transported. Often I do not need the waist belt for the short distances traveled from the vehicle and would like to be able to remove it completely. I am planning to buy another case for the 600mm that is not so bulky and will be easier to store and transport.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trekker 600AW III backpack is great for the intended purpose Purchased this to leave my D5 w/1.4 tele+600mm lense hooked up for easy transport and quick access while traveling in vehicle. Room for additional items in pockets also. My RRS Lens stabilizer fits it top section but cannot figure out how to attach or pack my full size Wimberley into case. Pro: Everything can be left assembled, making set up easier and faster. Con: Not wide enough to hold 2 piece Nikon lens hood. This is why I only gave it 4 stars. However, I use an aftermarket folding hood with velcro straps, that fits inside case. But, I cannot stand the camera upright on the lens hood with this setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent long lens backpack I purchased the Lens Trekker 600 AW III to carry a Nikon 600 f/4 lens with body attached and it fits perfectly. The backpack is very sturdy and has great padding to protect the lens. Additional adjustable support pads hold the lens securely in place when transporting. The shoulder harness system is adjustable for a perfect fit and the waist belt has great padding and helps tremendously to support the weight and ease the load on the shoulders. There is enough room above the lens with body to carry another body and lens on the padded shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits 800mm sigma + 1.4x tele + 1DX! This is an amazing backpack, its massive but very comfortable. I've used some larger backpacking backpacks in the past, and this bag has the same adjustments as well as comforts as those backpacks. I was also able to fit my 800mm sigma with a 1.4x telephoto and a 1DX! I highly recommend this for anyone looking to transport a large telephoto lens setup in a very comfortable, yet sturdy backpack. I do not believe this will fit on any carry-on for planes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatly improved Each version of this bag gets an upgrade. This upgrade is significant in length and comfort. A small pouch on belt for quick access. I have 3 of these bags, this last version is the best. Hiking in or packing into the car this bag will keep your lenses secure even with extender and camera attached. Camera can be detached or an extra body stored on top. If you have a 600 or 800 lens this bag will solve your transportation concerns.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very large lens backpack but needed for 600mm f/4 lenses This is a huge bag and its dimension are as large as the Nikon crate for the 600mm f/4 lens. Actual dimensions with the non-detachable straps is 26 x 9 x 16 inches. The 26 inch length works well and is needed if you want to have the 600mm lens along with a teleconverter and camera body attached fit inside. This was my main reason for buying this bag instead of others. I want to be able to take my camera, TC, and lens already coupled to a location and not be making the changes inside my vehicle or outside and exposed to windblown dust and dirt and possibly sand. The construction is top notch and the backpack aspect is very well done. Lots of padding for the shoulder straps and a padded waist belt as well. A bit of overkill actually for what will be at most a 20-22 lb. load. The tripod holder is a funky design that uses the detachable tripod foot pocket though it is too small for regular tripod feet. The straps that are provided have a nice buckle and clamp design so once adjusted they can be simply snapped into place. The mounting loops though are too widely spaced for holding a tripod to keep it from flopping around. LowePro's product piece shows the backpack in use with a monopod which gives one an idea of what their product people were conceiving with the design. This large lens backpack is the best one for the super large 600mm f/4 lens with its huge lens hood(s) but I would not buy it for use with a 500mm f/4 or a 150-600mm or other smaller or shorter lens. What I wish is that the people designing these lens backpacks would actually see how they are used in the field and think more outside the box. There is wasted space in the interior of the main compartment on the sides of where the lens sits as although the lens hood is nearly 9 inches in diameter the neck of the lens is a third that wide. Overall I like this backpack for use with the 600mm f/4 lens and would recommend it for use with this particular lens.
