    Lowepro LP36775 Reviews

Pro Trekker 450 AW Camera and Laptop Backpack (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Backpack for Photography The Lowepro Pro Trekker 450 has a tremendous amount of versatility. It is very well designed and offers great back support. Very few photography packs are built for actual hiking with heavy loads. As a result, you become more fatigued and the journey is less enjoyable. I loaded 40lbs of gear and the pack was still comfortable. Ill never need to carry all that gear on a single trip, but it is good to know that the pack can carry it all. The dividers are well made and the padding is very solid. The pack holds its shape on its own even when half loaded. I am able to not only load my camera gear in it, I have enough room for a rain jacket, extra sweater and shirts, and, most importantly, food and drink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best designed LowePro Camera Backpack ever. The backpack fits me perfectly. Loaded with a Canon 60D & 70D bodies, Canon 28-300 lens, a Tamron 16-300 lens and a Canon 18-135 lens and necessary accessories, the Pro Trekker 450 II still sits on my 5' 3 frame (vertically challenged here) comfortably. It is more slender than previous backpacks I have had. A lot deeper. Very tough construction. The accessory bag on top can hold rain sleeves, a lite weight rain coat and comes with a waist belt. If you do not have a laptop (I don't) the sleeve protector is removable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great backpack This backpack is great for all my photography needs. I can fit two DSLR cameras (Canon 1DX and 6D with battery grip) 4 extra lenses, all my filters and other miscellaneous things safely inside. I love that is comes with a Camelbak on the side and the tripod holder is great too. It's a heavy backpack with all my gear in it but fits very comfortable and the waist belt and adjustable shoulder straps provide even support so you really can't feel the heavy weight you are carrying. Solid build and I can see this lasting a long time with all my hikes and other uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed I needed a backpack that could easily carry the 400mm 2.8 and multiple bodies. I am able to carry two full sized bodies and a compact bodies along with a 24-70mm 2.8 & a 70-200mm 2.8. Plenty of room for a 13 or 15 laptop and other accessories. This backpack when fully loaded is heavy. Very heavy. Mine pushes over 45 pounds but it still feels comfortable on my back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable to wear with space for a large lens. This backpack is nicely designed to carry the weight of a full camera load. Once I adjusted the waist strap & shoulder straps to allow the weight to sit on my hips I had no issue hiking on moderately steep and rough trails. Balance was good, padding was excellent. I was carrying an extra Nikon D4, 200-500mm f5.6, 70-200mm f2.8, 24-70mm f2.8 and 3 water bottles in the pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really well made and fun to use! This bag has it all and is truly super functional. It has been great to take on location and is super comfortable getting there with this pack!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't Fit Canon 400mm 2.8 with hood Bought this bag to use as a professional, traveling sports photographer. I've taken it as carry on on medium to large planes, but smaller planes may not allow it as carry on as it has a large footprint. cannot fit under the seats and struggles in some overhead lockers. The build is what you expect from Lowepro- terrific. Surprisingly comfortable even with 18kgs/40lbs of gear inside. Accommodates most of the equipment I need for Track & field (the sport that can use the most amount of equipment). There's what seems to be dozens of straps and clips all over the place if you're OCD about straps this will be a nightmare for you. Biggest downfall: doesn't fit Canon's 400mm with the hood attached, and I mean even with the hood in it's stored position, ie backwards. Lowepro's marketing photos show Nikon's 400mm fitting with its hood reduced but not Canon's for this reason. I attach the hood on the outside of the bag as my solution, but not very practical for everyone and every situation. Equipment shown in the photo: 400mm f/2.8 (mk2) with 1D attached, a 2nd 1D x1.4 teleconverter stacked on top x2 teleconverter 24-70mm mk2 70-200mm 2.8 mk2 with hood 50mm 1.4 (a sigma 10mm fisheye and any other similarly sized lens can stack onto) extra space for hard drives, chargers, etc. large inside pocket fits the 400mm polariser filter with case and 2 Pocketwizards. Laptop case is really nice, fitting my 15 macbook perfectly. However I feel as that where the laptop compartment is located may be putting pressure on the computer and can potentially damage it- the compartment is located under the tripod/monopod area putting pressure directly onto the computer with the 400mm pressing up directly under it. Overall I will cautiously recommend this bag, especially to canon 400mm users.

    question

can I carry a 15 Macbook pro and a 9.7 ipad pro with a sleeve at a same time ??
    Asked by: Prateev B.
Yes, they will both fit. However, I would be concerned with the iPad display scratching.

    question

I have seen photos of this bag with the rain cover deployed with a tripod attached to the bottom of the bag. It appears that if you have the rain cover deployed you will need to move the tripod from the dedicated sleeve on the back. Does anyone know if the pack comes with bottom straps to attach a tripod?
    Asked by: Tom M.
There are two straps on the bottom of the bag - You can see them in the first two product photos. These straps could hold tent, sleeping pad, jacket, or tripod. There are THREE tripod holders on the pack, one of them has a sock to hold the feet of tripod. It easily holds my large Induro tripod.

    question

Is the belt removable? I could replace it with a think-tank belt
    Asked by: David C.
The hip belt is removable, you will need the ThinkTank Steriod belt in order to get near the same support.2 items: 1. the included belt is secured to the pack with straps on both sides as well as Velcro the ThinkTank belt cannot be strapped to the pack, 2. the included belt has accessory loops on one side though I do not know if they are compatible with ThinkTank accessories.

    question

Will this bag pass as a Carry-On personal Item on a Flight? I need to travel with Pro Video gear and don't want to check expensive gear. I'm going to cary on a Pelican iM2600 (put in overhead) and use this bag as a personal item (on floor in front of me)
    Asked by: Nathan
This is a great backpack but it's way to big for any airline carryon specification.

    question

water bag for Pro Trekker 450 AW?
    Asked by: John C. M.
If you mean is there a cover for the pack, no, none came with mine, but it is very well made and seems like it would resist rain quite well. I always take a back packer nylon parka to cover my back pack in case of hard rain if I'm out a long time. If you mean a water bag for drinking, no, it does not have that feature.

    question

Is this backpack approved for in flight carry on luggage?
    Asked by: Vasco D.
Hi , I have traveled to the Middle East, Africa, UK and many other places with this bag as a carry on . Only once was I stopped and asked to show the camel bladder to ensure it was empty. Tip reverse the waist belt on its self so it doesn't get on the way and makes it easy to stow in the overhead. Also this bag takes a lot of kit.. Don't overload, if they see you struggling to lift it they will stop you. Safe travels Kurt

    question

How weather proof is this pack? How much protection would it offer the gear inside from the exterior getting wet without the rain cover on it?
    Asked by: Paul
Hello! I haven't really tested it in a downpour, but several times I've had to gate-check the bag because in some smaller regional planes it doesn't fit in the overhead. I can say that one time it was raining and the bag came back pretty wet, but all contents inside were nice and dry. I've never had a problem with moisture getting in. I would say you're good for at least a short amount of rain or weather, but I am not sure how well it would handle extended exposure.

    question

How small does the waist belt get (when fully cinched down)? And/or, is it removable / replaceable with a smaller one?
    Asked by: Deborah A.
The hip pads stick out about 8-9 inches from the bottom of the pack. The belt appears to be adjustable to the ends of the hip pads. That is, the belt part can be made small enough to fasten at the ends of the hip pads if they were pulled together, except for the length of the buckle which is an inch or so. The belt is not removeable.
