Elements 13

Friendly and Intuitive Environment
Extending the legacy of past versions of Elements, Elements 13 revolves around a highly intuitive and efficient environment for easy navigation for selecting a host of editing tools, exporting options, and file management solutions. Large, bold icons simplify tool selection and the ability to choose from Quick, Guided, and Expert editing modes enables the appropriate amount of control based on personal needs.
Seamless Mobile Integration
Photos and videos from within Elements 13 can easily be viewed, shared, and linked with mobile devices and, additionally, images taken with your mobile devices can be sent directly to Elements albums for an even more seamless digital workflow.
Guided Editing
Professional editing techniques can be produced and learned simultaneously through the use of Guided Edits. For photos, over 25 Guided Edits are available. For videos, a series of video tutorials walk you through the process of performing a specific edit to help learn and accomplish a technique for greater understanding.
All-Around Workflow Solution
Elements 13 acts as an efficient means for importing, organizing, finding, and managing files with the Organizer view in addition to serving as a solution for editing, enhancing, printing, and sharing photos and videos. Visual tags can be utilized to selectively demarcate files based on subjects, locations, or events for easier locating of specific files within a vast image library. Additionally, location-tagged photos and movies can be viewed on a map based on where they were taken.
Video and Photo Collaboration
The bundled version of Photoshop and Premiere Elements 13 extends the functionality of both programs by enabling collaborative aspects between the two editing applications. Freeze-frame effects in movies can be enhanced through the photo editing control of Photoshop while traditional photo slideshows can be enhanced through the use of cinematic transitions and effects (Windows only).

Photoshop Elements 13

These suggestions can result in new compositions that can maximize a picture's impact by removing unneeded elements. While any of the provided suggestions can be applied, the final crop can be manually set as well.
Guided Edits for Black and White

Adobe Elements 13 Reviews

Photoshop Elements 13 & Premiere Elements 13 for Mac and Windows (DVD) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suitable for most photography needs I had Photoshop 3, but couldn't afford to update to the latest licensed version of that software when I switched computers. I find that Elements provides the vast majority of the Photoshop features that a photo enthusiast needs. Some of the controls differ, so it can take a bit of adjustment. Haven't used Premiere Elements yet, but I imagine the user experience will be similar. My biggest complaint -- and it's a big one -- is that Adobe hid the critical serial number inside the packaging that I couldn't find it until B&H customer service discovered for me that I had to tear the box apart, literally. Adobe's customer service was useless, frustrating and time-wasting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun but not intuitive I use PS CS5 but am not a fan of subscription software so I thought I'd give elements a try again. It has a lot of fun looking features but I'm having to hunt to find where to do things I go right to in CS5. I'm guessing if you've never used CS5, that Elements would be easier to pick up and run with. For movie editing, I have LR4 but have been using Movie Maker. It looks like Premiere will do what it does but again I had to search just to find the trim tool. I guess it's all what you get used to and learn. I think these are another good set of 'tools to have, but I'll need to invest some time learning them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Improvements Over Previous Versions Photoshop Elements feels very similar to version 11 from which I upgraded. A few automatic enhancement options sometimes help. Premiere Elements provides a more user friendly editor than previous versions. The snip button right on the timeline is handy. It is still greatly lacking in DVD menu creation. Not all menu templates produce fully functional menu buttons in the exported DVD. I hoped after 13 versions that Adobe would get this right, mais non.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing... New to Photoshop Elements. A little overwhelmed but can tell the software is going to be easy to learn. No manual or paper directions, but it has live tutorials to watch. It's like having somebody right with you teaching you how to do certain things. Pretty cool!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use, easy to clean up issues I use Adobe's Photoshop and Premier Elements in my business to clean up graphics, images and video used in signage in store. As we make inroads internally into such areas as digital signage, I find the programs to offer what I need for the basic uses that I need, without the full-on, blow 'em out of the water capabilities of the full programs. As to B&H - great pricing and fast shipping. What more could one ask for there?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I already had Elements version 10, and I knew it was a useful program. Version 13 gives me additional options which I am gradually learning. I am new to Premiere, but it already has proven to be better than the other video editors I have tried. The tutorials are very helpful to get the most out of these programs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Photoshop defines the state of the art Elements 13 seems to give you 9/10ths of the overpriced spread. And Elemnents does not make you use that stinking cloud. More and more I use Lightroom, but on occasion Photoshop is very useful, such as for meat cleaver effects like cutting and pasting areas that Adjustmen-oriented Lightroom does not support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade from E9 I love the ease of using the simple tweeks, and there seems to be way more functions than I'll normally use. I was using E-9, which was AOK with me. I will try to experiment more as time goes on. Can't beat the price & B&H's fast delivery. I have only scratched the surface on all there is to offer here.

Save original with a modified name. Crop your picture in Photoshop Elements. Save it with the original name. Use the Elements Organizer to keep track of your pictures and revisions.

question

does this program allow you to create dvds or your own movies?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes to both elements of your question. This is a great program for capturing your video regardless of source and to create various outputs, including a DVD. I've used it with video from video cameras, cell phones, and also old video I've taken from VHS tapes to create DVD's for our family. It also does a wonderful job of integrating still pictures into the videos.
