Key Features
- 12MP 2/3" X-Trans CMOS II sensor
- Fujinon 4x Optical Zoom Lens
- 28-112mm (35mm Equivalent)
- Real Time EVF, Dual Manual Control Rings
The black Fujifilm X30 Digital Camera is an update to the X20, adding a high-resolution electronic viewfinder, a larger 3" 920k-dot tilting rear LCD screen, a second control ring to adjust aperture and shutter speed settings, and a Classic Chrome film simulation mode. It features a 12 megapixel 2/3" X-Trans CMOS II sensor and an EXR Processor II to provide high quality imagery at up to 12 fps, and a sensitivity range to ISO 12800. This sensor uses a randomized pixel array, removing the need for an optical low-pass filter, thereby allowing the camera to produce sharp and clear imagery.
question
Is the X30 viewfinder optical viewfinder as well as electronic, or only electronic?
Its a small EVF but very useable.

question
Does this have threads for a filter? What size?
Yes, but the threads are 40mm, not the more common 40.5mm. The only reputable filter maker that makes 40mm filters is Marumi. But the way to go is to get the original hood for this camera Fuji's BH# FULHX10 or the 50% cheaper Vello LH-X10. These are 2 part hoods and the hood part screws off to reveal 52mm threads, everyone makes a full range of 52mm threaded filters. Why these hoods rather than the later Fuji one that has a UV filter also? Because it is much harder to use a polarizing filter with that hood as one can't unscrew the hood part to turn the filter- the hood part isn't really needed with a polarizer anyway. The x30 is a joy to use with a ploarizer- and is a joy in every way anyway- I love mine. These hoods are also a great idea too- filters or not. The Fuji one is slightly better built and the black finish is a perfect match to the camera, but the Vello has a more matte finish on the inside of the hood, better to control reflections. I cannot recommend the X30 highly enough, it is a joy to use, to look at and it is very well built. Hope this helps.

question
Read a customer review and they mentioned getting some additional accessories like a Power Sync Cord .Which one would be suitable for the Fuji X30 camera . ?
If you mean a cord to use off-camera flash, the X30 does not have a standard connector. You could use a hot shoe adapter for off-camera flash via a cable. I spotted one Vello universal hot shoe adapter on the B&H site but you will need to satisfy yourself about compatibility with the X30.

question
I have the Fuji X30 camera and love it.I would like to know if there is an eyecup/eyepiece that allows me to look through the viewfinder without my face feeling flush to the camera.?Thank You
TJ L is correct, Fujifilm doesn't make an eyecup extension for the X30, there is not a sliding channel to attach it to but, as suggested, you may find one that can stick to the viewfinder.

Can you turn off / disable the LCD screen?
Yes. The View button lets you toggle between the viewfinder, screen or both.

question
Is there an option to shoot in the 1:1 (square) aspect ratio directly from the camera? The work I do requires that and not having to crop the photo into 1:1 on the computer would make my life much easier, one less step to deal with.
Absolutely, there is a 1:1 ratio on the X30
