The Photo Safe II OTG is compatible with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux computers and operates using the included Lithium-ion battery or 100-240 VAC via the included AC adapter. The unit is designed for anyone who needs to download or backup their memory cards, whether they are working at home, on a professional job, or on vacation. The Photo Safe II OTG also includes a USB to DC cable, a mini-USB cable, and a micro-USB-OTG cable.

Please bear in mind that while this device supports USB-OTG, this function will currently only work with Android devices. iOS on Apple iPhones do not support the USB-OTG industry standard.

Backs up Directly from CF, SD, SDHC, MS, and MS Duo Cards

Photo Safe II OTG copies the entire content of your memory card with its one-touch "Auto Copy" button, which features copy speeds of up to 5.0 MB/sec. This allows a full 1GB card to be copied in approximately 3.5 minutes. Photo Safe II OTG works with most card formats, including CF (Extreme III, IV, UDMA), SD card, SDHC card, Memory Stick, MS PRO, MS Duo, and MS PRO Duo. You can also make copies of photos taken from a friend's cameras by inserting their card into Photo Safe II OTG for instant archival of special moments. SDXC cards are not supported.

Copies All Formats with Copy Status Indicators

Photo Safe II OTG copies all file formats (including RAW images and videos), in their original file name and file structure. While you cannot view the pictures or videos on the screen, you can access the original files you copied onto Photo Safe II OTG by connecting it to a computer. Its icon backlit LED screen shows key system information, including operational status, battery life, remaining hard drive space, and active partition. The Copy Status Indicator displays percentage completed during copy, copy confirmation, and number of files copied upon completion. A unique folder name that indicates media card type and copy sequence is automatically created for each copy task to help you keep organized

View Photos On Devices That Support USB-OTG

The Photo Safe II OTG is able to connect to smartphones and tablets that support the USB-OTG function. Using the included USB-OTG cable, the Photo Safe II OTG can be connected to the USB port of a smartphone or tablet that supports the USB-OTG standard. When connected, you will be able to view the photos and videos stored on the Photo Safe II OTG hard drive according to the features allowed by the smartphone or tablet. In typical cases, the Smartphone or Tablet will include the Photo Safe II OTG photos and videos in the gallery app for viewing and playback. Note that not all smartphones and tablets support USB-OTG

User-Removable and Rechargeable Li-ion Battery

Photo Safe II OTG's battery life is approximately 80 minutes (copies a 1GB card 16 times on a full charge). The battery compartment is easy to access when you need to remove and replace the Li-ion battery. You can recharge the Li-ion battery by connecting Photo Safe II OTG to the included external AC power adapter, or to the computer's USB port. There is also a car adapter available separately, if you want to recharge the battery in your vehicle.

If you are looking to extend the battery power of Photo Safe II OTG without access to wall outlet, take a look at the Battery Porter 12000, Battery Porter 8000, or Battery Porter 5200, which are external battery packs that provide additional power to the Photo Safe II OTG. If you are looking for a device to recharge the Photo Safe II OTG battery outside the device, take a look at the Universal Battery Charger

Access Your Backups on the Computer

Photo Safe II OTG is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux computers with no driver required. Simply connect Photo Safe II OTG to your computer through the USB connection to access your saved photos and videos. Each backup created will be in a separate folder, with the folder names made up of two pieces of information. The first two characters are letters that indicate the type of memory card copied. The next five characters are sequential numbers starting from '00001' that that indicate the order of the folder created for the specific card format copied. For example, a folder name 'SD00003' means that this is a backup from a SD card, and this is the 3rd folder created for the SD card format

Doubles as An External Hard Drive

When the Photo Safe II OTG is connected to the computer, it will be recognized as a USB Mass Storage Device. The computer will map the hard drive and allow you to access it just like any other storage device. With its 500GB capacity, you can use Photo Safe II OTG like an external hard drive. It also functions as a memory card reader on Windows systems.

Please note that if you ever need to reformat the Photo Safe II OTG hard drive, it needs to be formatted in FAT32 format (in Windows) or MS-DOS format (in Mac) for the card copy function to work. When the Photo Safe hard drive is formatted in a file format other than FAT32, it will work as an external hard drive when connected to your computer, but the stand-alone card copying feature will not work

Copy Directly to CF Card from SD, SDHC, MS, or MS DUO Card

You can also use the Photo Safe II OTG to copy card content from an SD, SDHC, Memory Stick, MS PRO Duo, or MS Duo card directly onto a CF card. You might find this feature useful when you want to make an additional backup from an SD or MS card to a CF card, or when you want to make a copy of the photos from, or to, a friend's memory card

question

Re Photo Safe II (500GB): if I use the device to copy photos taken on one shoot and, on another day, to copy photos taken on a later shoot, does the device copy, again, the first day's photos already copied--or does it copy just the later photos?
Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately, it will copy the entire folder of images. If I have critical issues, I copy them, even if it means eventually having duplicates, but otherwise I wait until I have a sizable number. By carrying extra memory cards, this worked out, and on a 2-week trip I was able to keep all the originals on cards and also have the backup in the device.

Can this read RAW files? -- is that a stupid Q?
Asked by: Anonymous
Stupid question? It is and it's not! This device doesn't read aka interpret files... it just copies ALL the files on the inserted memory card on its hard disk. Hope this can help.
