we bought these to relocate our presentation remote receiver close to the front of our church. we used a 100' cat6a cable, used a usb cable to connect from laptop to host, the a usb extension cable from client to remote receiver. Works perfectly. love that they are very compact, very easy to hide.

B&H description says 25', but this must be for high demand situations, such as video. I connected a mouse with 100' of Cat 6 cable and worked fine. As you can see, very small and requires no external power.

The product worked as advertised. The product is small and was used on a USD serial device 100' away. Great value for the money.

Is this sufficient for file transfer? Use case would be mounting external HD to NAS from across CAT6A tie lines. So I can back up NAS files without going to the basement or through the network.

It would not be recommended for data integrity. It is also going to be slow this is USB 2 speed.

I am able to send USB signal from my M32r console ...

I am able to send USB signal from my M32r console to my mac book pro, running Logic Pro X... but I am not receiving any audio from the console to Logic. I've tried several different cat cables at different lengths, but still no luck. When I remove the transmitter and receiver from the equation, it works great. Any ideas as to why my computer recognizes the console while using the extender kit but will not pass any audio?

This would be heavily dependent on your specific situation the adapter itself is limited to USB Full Speed (12 Mbps): 100' (30.48 m) and USB Low Speed (1.5 Mbps): 330' (100.58 m). Your audio issue may be coming from the devices limited bandwidth.

I am trying to send a usb signal from an m32 soundboard. will this be compatible with it?

It's pretty straight forward, if your present setup will allow the USB device (Type B connector) to send to the USB receiving device (Host), perhaps a computer with a conventional USB cable, then this device simply extends that range. Mine works so well I tend to forget it is there. At least that's my humble impression of its purpose. BTWI am sending MIDI over USB to PreSonus StudioOne on a MacBookPro from Yamaha DTX eDrums. HTH!
