Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be careful when using on shoe mount This product is well made and is easy to use with a nice range of motion and fine tolerances. However twice while using this product to support a Ninja Blade in the shoe mount the arm has slipped out resulting in the monitor falling to the ground. The first time I assumed that I had not tightened the locking mechanism enough but when it happened a second time (after using considerable force to lock it in) I am now hesitant to use it for this purpose.Luckily the monitor didn't break but I have to say I am disappointed with this major flaw. Be aware of this issue!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from should've bought this from the beginning I've used a cheaper articulating arm with a ninja 2 and dealt with it, but after upgrading to the Assassin and deciding to try out the StrongArm, I wish I had bought it from day 1. When loosened it is very smooth and easy to adjust to whatever position you desire, but once locked down it is solid and isn't going anywhere. The cold shoe adapter is solid and can be unscrewed and a separate 1/4 adapter screwed in its place. I have done both setups. I would highly recommend this arm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra cost - very stable unit. I purchased this to mount a SmallHD 701 monitor to my GH4's Honu cage after reading other reviews. Yes, there are less expensive arms out there but I did not want to take a chance holding up an expensive monitor. I learned my lesson with tripods. You'll purchase several cheap tripods before buying the one you should have the first time. This arm is easy to adjust and locks tight quickly. The lever can be moved out of the way once the unit is tightened by pulling up and turning it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Maybe I got a bad one...? Picked this up along with the SmallHD 701. After playing around with the positioning for maybe 30 minutes or so, One ball head somehow locked in position and would not budge even when loosened, and the other ball head was loose and would not tighten. Not what I expected for the price. I had to take it apart and do some 'convincing' with a pair of pliers to get it to work properly. Now I'm worried this is going to quit on me during a shoot. Guess I have to spend more $$ to get something I don't have to worry about...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small yet incredibly strong Reluctantly ordered this guy while looking for an articulating arm for my A7S II monitor and let me tell you, one of the best investments I have made yet! It not only holds the monitor steady but also articulates incredibly smoothly and easily. After three months use, the arm shows little signs of wear. Highly recommend this item to those looking for an articulating arm. As they say, you do get what you pay for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Product, Petty Customer Service. The margin between safely securing the monitor and stripping the bolt is very thin. I stripped mine after only a handful of uses. I suppose I over estimated the quality of the product. I found the customer service agent to be curt and petty. It was a bizarre exchange that has left me with a bad taste in my mouth and a broken monitor arm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lives up to its name bought this in 2013 to mount my AC7 monitor...as of this review it still works flawlessly...ive used it to mount monitors, external recorders, lights, even mounted my GH3 and heavy Voigtlander Nokton lens to a C-stand to get some awkward angles on a shoot and the StrongArm was solid. Thumbs up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good item for the smaller monitors. This does the job that is needed. I would say it is a bit spendy for what you get though. I haven't had any issues and I use this all the time. It holds my video assist with ease, but haven't gotten much luck out of it holding the Odyssey 7Q+.
