Ubiquiti Networks NanoStation M overview

  • 1Description

Create wide area network connectivity with the NSM2 NanoStationM 400 MHz Indoor/Outdoor airMAX CPE Router from Ubiquiti Networks. This wireless access point features an enhanced 400 MHz Atheros processor along with 32MB of SDRAM and 8MB of flash memory. The single 10/100 BASE-TX Ethernet networking interface features passive Power over Ethernet compatibility and can easily be installed in a variety of locations using the included pole mounting kit. The enclosure of the NSM2 is comprised of outdoor UV stabilized plastic for enhanced durability including the ability to withstand temperatures ranging from -22°F to 167°F.

airMAX Technology
Unlike standard Wi-Fi protocol, Ubiquiti's Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using pre-designated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller.

This "time slot" method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes airtime efficiency. It provides many magnitudes of performance improvements in latency, throughput, and scalability compared to all other outdoor systems in its class.
Intelligent QoS
Priority is given to voice/video for seamless streaming.
Dual Ethernet Connectivity
The NanoStationM provides a secondary Ethernet port with software-enabled PoE output for seamless IP video integration.
Intelligent PoE
Remote hardware reset circuitry of the NanoStationM allows the device to be remotely reset from the power supply location.

airOS is an intuitive, highly developed Ubiquiti firmware technology designed to require no training to operate. Behind the user interface is a powerful firmware architecture, which enables high‑performance, outdoor multi‑point networking.
Integrated on all Ubiquiti M products, airView provides advanced spectrum analyzer functionality: waterfall, waveform, and real-time spectral views allow operators to identify noise signatures and plan their networks to minimize noise interference.
airControl is an intuitive, web-based server network management application, which allows operators to centrally manage entire networks of Ubiquiti devices.

    Ubiquiti Networks NanoStation M reviews

NSM2 NanoStationM Indoor/Outdoor airMAX CPE Router is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for remote locations Using with an enterprise class IP camera to send video from remote location. Easy setup and quick wireless connection to the Ubiquiti RocketM2Ti we already had. Directional antenna of the Nano combined with the sector antenna on the Rocket gives us good signal strength at 100m. More than enough throughput to handle the 3-5Mbps camera traffic. Excellent pricing on all the Ubiquiti gear we have purchased. Excellent range of wireless security options. Does not use standard 48v PoE (uses 18v, I believe) - you must use either the provided power injector or an optional PoE adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the RV! We're using this after reading Outside Our Bubble's recommendation and watching their installation video. This antenna does a nice job of homing in on RV park wifi signals and handing it off to it's lan port. Couple it with a snap-in airgateway router to create a private, secure wifi network for all of your devices to use. We've used this at two RV parks so far and have just aimed it towards a window to find the signal. But we're also ordering the suction mount kit to make it easer to attach and aim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lit up a city block I used a pair of them, connected by 500 feet of boosted POE ethernet to go 'around' a building with a wifi network. Both the end points were pointed across the opposite faces of the building and provided solid coverage across 500 feet+ at 4+ bars. Easy to configure, plenty of online documentation. Like the POE and POE pass through features, makes adding a camera at the end point without additional wiring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'd buy it again in a heart beat As a vendor who travels and depends on internet to run the on site workflow during events, this has relieved a lot of stress. It has been dependable in extreme weather conditions, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
