  • 1Description

This instance of Revit, Revit Architecture 2015 from Autodesk, is optimized for Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows. It features a suite of design tools for helping architects bring vision to life as well as analyze the viability of concepts. This copy of the software is a single-user, download license for installation of Windows 32- and 64-bit.

What's New for 2015

Lighting Analysis for Revit
Expose electric and solar lighting results directly on a Revit model with Lighting Analysis for Revit, a cloud service that uses A360 Rendering. The results are validated against Radiance, a commonly used simulation tool, and displayed in-canvas more quickly. Lighting Analysis for Revit also offers automated daylighting analysis for LEED
IFC Linking
Use the new Link IFC tool to link an IFC file to the current project. If you later change the IFC file and reload the project, the project updates to reflect the changes. Linked geometry has much better fidelity and associated parameters come into the Revit environment with the correct values and units
Tooltips for Family Parameters
Improve learnability by customizing Revit MEP tooltips and communicating parameters and their use. Users can now customize Revit MEP tooltips to help describe and communicate parameters and their intended use, to help improve overall product learnability
Trim / Extend Multiple Elements
Trim/Extend has been updated to enable for box selection of multiple elements. When drawing a selection box from right to left, the elements do not have to be contained in the box to be selected. When drawing from left to right, only elements fully contained in the box are selected. This will improve your productivity by minimizing the steps it takes
Family Parameter Order Adjustment
By default, new family parameters are now added in ascending alphabetic order to the parameter list, within the group that you selected when creating the parameter. Use the Sorting Order buttons (Ascending and Descending) to sort the parameters alphabetically for the current family. To further modify the order, select a parameter and use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to change the order of the parameters within a group. This parameter order is maintained in the Properties palette (instance parameters) and Type Properties dialog (type parameters) for the family when it is loaded into a project
Assembly Code Settings
The Manage Assembly Code Setting dialog allows user to change the UniformatClassifications.txt location. There is a new warning indicator if there is an issue reading the Assembly Code file with an unsuccessful reload notification. In addition, the last loaded version of the Assembly code file is loaded into the document when open even if not found
Enhanced Hidden Lines
Parameter to control the visibility of Hidden Lines in your views. Structural and MEP users now are able to turn off their hidden lines for an entire view. Show or hide the hidden lines of your geometry independent of what discipline your view is set to. In view properties, you can use the new Show Hidden Lines parameter to control the display of hidden lines in the current view. Define the parameter for view templates. See the hidden lines of openings in Walls and Floors. Display all hidden lines automatically in 3D views for better documentation
Revision Improvements
You can now delete revisions and better sketch revision clouds shapes. Deleting a revision removes the revision and all of the revision's associated clouds and tags from the model. Use standard draw tools, such as a line or rectangle, to sketch the revision cloud shape. Pressing the Spacebar, you can flip the arc direction in the cloud shape. Specify the minimum arc length for revisions clouds in a project on the Sheet Issues/Revisions dialog
Tag Improvements
When you move a tagged element, or drag the tag head, the tag leader and elbow adjustment behavior is now consistent with that of text leaders. When you move or adjust the tag, the portion of the leader from the element to the elbow is flexible, while the portion from the elbow to the tag remains fixed.

The instance property Elevation at Top has been added to isolated foundations, wall foundations, and foundation slabs. Elevation at Top specifies the elevation of the highest point or plane of the foundation. You can use this information in tags when documenting a project
Enhanced Schedules / Material Takeoffs
Schedule Enhancements with Parameters, Filter and Grand Totals. Base and top constraint wall parameters are now available for schedule (Base Constraint, Base Offset, Top Constraint, Top Offset and Unconnected Height). Grand Totals can now be customized using the "Custom Grand Total Title" field and the Schedule Properties "Filter" options have been expanded from four to eight rows
Images in Schedules
Include images in schedules to convey graphical information for elements. Image Instance and Type properties have been added to many elements to allow you to associate an image with an element instance or type. These images can then be included in schedules and will display when the schedule is placed on a sheet
Keynoting Settings
Simplification of dialog to a single path with absolute, relative, or library locations. There is a new warning indicator if there is an issue reading the keynote file with an unsuccessful reload notification. The last loaded version of the Keynote file is loaded into the document to add keynote tags when open even if not found
View References
Improved functionality when changing the referenced view after a view reference has been created. Change the view reference in reference callouts, reference sections, and reference elevations after the reference has been created, as needed
Duplicate Views
When you duplicate a view, "Copy 1" is now added to the name. When you duplicate a dependent view, the default name for the copy is "Dependent 1". The copied view has the correct focus in the Project Browser (so you can rename the view) and the copy of the view is open in the drawing area
Anti-Aliasing Improvements
Now, with more granular control, you can turn on Anti-aliasing for specific views, to help reduce the need for additional computing time, and improve performance
Sketchy Lines
Achieve a hand drawn, informal sketch look, by just pushing a button. Presentation Sketchy Lines graphics gives you two parameters for adjusting the look of the sketchy lines, Jitter and Extension. The tool is available in all views and you can work while Sketchy Lines are turned on
Ray Trace Usability Improvements
Ray trace view mode now renders faster and without white "fireflies"

Collaboration

Interference Check
Use interference checking to scan your Revit model for collisions between elements
Worksharing
Worksharing distributes the power of the parametric building modeling environment across the project team. Multiple users can share the same intelligent building information model and save their work to a central file
Revit Server
Revit Server helps project teams in different locations to more easily collaborate on shared Revit models across a wide-area network (WAN). This Revit feature helps you maintain an integrated collection of central Revit models on a single server that can be accessed from local servers. Built-in redundancy helps provide protection in case of WAN connectivity loss
Vault Integration
Vault Collaboration software is designed to work with Revit, to help more effectively streamline data management associated with architecture, engineering, and multidiscipline projects - from planning through design and construction
IFC Certfication
Revit Architecture 2015 has been certified by BuildingSMART International for Industry Foundation Class (IFC) version 2x3 Coordination View 2.0 export
Bidirectional Links, Multiple Analysis Packages
The structural analytical model in Revit software can be bi-directionally linked with Robot Structural Analysis Professional software. With bidirectional linking, your analysis results will automatically update your model. Parametric change technology coordinates those updates throughout your model views and construction drawings. Revit also links to third-party structural analysis and design programs, facilitating the exchange of structural analytical information. The types of information that can be shared include:
  • Release and boundary conditions
  • Loads and load combinations
  • Material and section properties

Design

Add Content with Autodesk Exchange
Autodesk Exchange enables you to access extended Revit functionality and an expanded content library. "Buy and install" directly from the web into the current Revit session. You can also access the large Revit content library through Autodesk Exchange
Parametric Components
Parametric components, also known as families, are the basis for all building components designed in Revit. They offer an open, graphical system for design and form-making as well as an opportunity to express design intent at increasingly detailed levels. Use parametric components for the most elaborate assemblies, such as cabinetry and equipment, as well as for the most elementary building parts, such as walls and columns. No programming language or coding is required
Bidirectional Associativity
In Revit, all model information is stored in one place. Any information that gets changed is effectively changed throughout the Revit model
Conceptual Design Tools
Revit software offer various conceptual design tools to help support your creative flow. Sketch freely, create free-form models more easily, and manipulate forms interactively. Define forms and geometry as real building components for a smoother transition to design development and documentation. Revit automatically builds a parametric framework around your forms as you design, offering greater levels of control, accuracy, and flexibility
Point Cloud Tools
Point cloud tools connect laser scans directly into the BIM process, helping to accelerate renovation and retrofit projects
Temporary View Templates
Minimize the need for saving and maintaining working views. This feature allows you to change view properties without affecting the saved view state

Documentation

Construction Modeling
Modeling tools help you derive better construction insight from design models. Split and manipulate objects, such as wall layers and concrete pours, to more accurately represent construction methods. Prepare shop drawings for fabrication with features that give you greater flexibility in documenting assemblies of model elements
Interoperability
Interoperability features enable you to work more efficiently with members of your extended project team. Export your building model or site, complete with critical metadata, to AutoCAD Civil 3D civil engineering software and import models from Inventor 3D mechanical design software
Material Takeoff
This tool helps calculate detailed material quantities and track material quantities in cost estimates. The parametric change engine helps support more accurate material takeoff
DWG, DWF, DXF, and DGN support
Revit imports, exports, and links your data with popular formats, including DWG, DXF, DGN, and IFC. This makes it easier to work with data from consultants, clients, or contractors
Tag on Placement or by Category
Tag mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components as they are being placed instead of tagging them as a separate set of steps. Tag on placement is enabled for most categories of objects in Revit, helping to increase productivity and enabling you to design more efficiently
Interface to External Databases
Facilitate communications with third-party tools by outputting Revit model data to any ODBC-compliant database. This includes estimating, planning, procurement, and facility management tools

Visualization
