question

I'm really interested in buying this flash, but I've heard many reports of the lettering rubbing off? Can anybody including B&H comment on this? Thanks!
Asked by: Coenraad K.
The lettering on mine wore off as well. When I contacted Nissin, they said they knew this was an issue with this unit. But they refused to repair or replace it. So I am stuck with a flash that I have to guess at what setting it is on.

Are these units, the i40 and i400 for Nikon, ...

Are these units, the i40 and i400 for Nikon, pre-updated to firmware version 18-11 so they are compatible with z6/z7/z50 Out of the box? (I don't want to send in an unit to nissin just to get it updated)
Asked by: Cristian
Hello Cristian, That is a good question, and a difficult one to answer. We (ExpoImaging) have been the Nissin distributor in the U.S. since June 2019, and we update the firmware of every flash we ship to our customers, including B&H. You cannot identify which version of the firmware is installed on a flash without powering up the flash, but if B&H purchased the flash from ExpoImaging then you could identify the firmware with the flash's purchase date (from ExpoImaging) and serial number. Nissin i400. Nissin released firmware version 2.0 (0102) for the i400 on July 10, 2019. This update added compatibility for the Nikon Z6/Z7. Any i400 purchased prior to July 10, 2019 would need its firmware updated to be compatible with the Z6/Z7. Nissin i40. Nissin released firmware version 18.11 for the i40 on Dec 19, 2018. This update added compatibility for the Nikon Z6/Z7. Any i400 purchased from the distributor prior to Dec 19, 2018 would need its firmware updated to be compatible with the Z6/Z7. If you have any other questions please contact us directly by sending your email to [email protected] Our offices are open Mon-Fri from 8:30am to 5:00pm PST. Best Regards,

is this flash compatible with panasonic lumix fz80 ?
Asked by: Mike
You could use this flash in manual exposure mode on the FZ80, but it's not compatible for TTL exposure, since the flash is compatible with Micro 4/3 cameras, and the FZ80 is not a Micro 4/3 camera, but a point and shoot camera.
