The SVT-CL from Ampeg is a 300W tube amplifier head designed for electric bass that features 0 dB and -15 dB inputs, Ampeg's proprietary Ultra Hi and Ultra Lo selectors, and multiple frequency possibilities via the three-band EQ.
Further expanding the EQ's functionality, a frequency-selector knob gives you five choices for midrange manipulation, from 220 Hz all the way up to 3 kHz. Eleven tubes bring classic Ampeg tone to the unit. For your convenience, both the power and standby switches are displayed on the front panel.
Sneak a peek at the back of the amplifier and you'll see a variety of options for connectivity: two 1/4" outputs, one Neutrik speakON output, and a balanced XLR out, should you wish to connect the preamp directly into a PA or console. You'll also notice the ability to slave the unit to other amplifiers via 1/4" output, or to feed effects processors by utilizing the preamp out. A polarity switch provides various positions to help zero out unwanted electrical buzz. Two bias controls allow you to predispose the unit's replaceable tubes toward durability or a fuller sound in the short term. Finally, an impedance selector switches between 2 and 4 ohms, thereby affording you more options in choice of stack.
Standby switch: keeps tubes powered while muting sound output
