Sony MDRXB450AP Overview

  • 1Description

The black version of the Sony MDRXB450 Extra Bass Headphones With In-Line Microphone Remote Control are designed for listening enthusiasts who love the low end found in club, bass, and hip hop music among others. The headphones use supra-aural closed-back 30mm neodymium dynamic dome drivers and aluminum acoustically bass boosting earcups to deliver a frequency response of 5 to 22,000 Hz into a 24 ohm load with a sensitivity of 102 dB/mW.

The rugged Y-design cable helps reduce tangles and includes a universal smartphone inline remote control with an omnidirectional electret condenser microphone for making calls and navigating music or podcasts on your mobile device. The functionality of the remote control can be customized using the SmartKey App (available from the Google Play and Android store).

The headphones feature a Direct-Vibe structure and pressure-relieving urethane foam earpads for noise isolation, an adjustable headband, and swivel-fold cups for improved portability when placed in a bag. The cable terminates in a gold-plated L-shaped mini plug for connecting to your device.

    Sony MDRXB450AP Reviews

MDRXB450 Extra Bass Headphones With In-Line Microphone Remote Control (Black) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the money These headphones have fantastic bass. You may need to adjust your equalizer so that the bass does not drown out all other sounds. The cushions are comfortable, but slide easily. I mainly use them for gaming or in my room, so this is not a big issue for me. I could see some concern if these were going to be used while riding a bike or other activities with a lot of movement. For the low price, I have very few complaints.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Adjust Your Equalizer When I first sported these headphones, I thought the bass was so pronounced it muffled all the sound... I bought these headphones because, for the price, they have an outstanding frequency response (5-22K Hz). However, adjusting the equalizer (in iTunes) improved the audio dramatically! I lowered the bass a bit... Cons: Headphones do tend to easily slip off the ears and head; Cord is a tad short; ear cups rotate 45 to lay them down easily--wish they rotated 180 to expose an ear for outsiders ocasionally. Pros: Stylish; comfortable cups on ear; light weight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad for the price Other reviews sounded pretty good so thought I'd take a chance. Definately bass heavy but can be muddy depending on the recording. Could be my 'aging' ears but I feel like the upper frequencies suffer a little. I've found that changing the headset position a little forward on my ears balances the sound. Tighter bass and higher frequencies don't get buried. Padding is a little warm on the ears, but hey - it's almost 90 degrees out Headset fit is a little loose on my head (22 personally) even adjusted to tightest position. Might need a little padding adding to the band if you have a small head. I'd rate it higher if the bass was a little tighter (not so muddy) and treble was cleaner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best buy for the money Love the sound and control but they don't stay o. Your head securely. If you aren't active they are the best for the money. I also find the jack to be extremely tight when plugging into my IOS but that could be an issue with Apple not Sony

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money. I bought these headphones for my grandson to use with his Ipod. When I received them I pulled them out of the box and tried them out before giving them to my grandson. They are made of cheap plastic and when I placed them on my ears the first thing I noticed was how loose they fit. When it came to trying to hear the bass especially I had to press them against my ears to hear the bass.Needless to say they are not worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product Comfortable and light. The cord is easy to handle and does not get tangled. The microphone is well-positioned and you don't have to think about it, it just works. I use it mostly for skype and videos and the sound quality is very good. The volume can be easily regulated from the computer, tablet or phone. I did not download the recommended app and it still works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old fashion Boomer ! the sound is excellent, deep booming bass. Not very heavy on the ears and just an old fashion set of headphones with nice overall response. great price for the quality, they seem to be well built to last a long time.
