Kinesis L622 overview

  • 1Description

The L622 PolyCore Long Lens Case 600 from Kinesis provides a secure transport and storage solution for some telephoto lenses with a DSLR body and the lens's hood in the shooting or stowed position. The case's sidewalls and bottom include a semi-rigid construction to provide the contents with enhanced protection from bumps and impacts. Compatible lenses or lens and camera combinations include a 600 f/4 lens with the hood in the shooting position; a 400 f/2.8 or a 500 f/4 lens with an attached quick release plate and a full-sized DSLR body along with the lens's hood in the shooting position; a Canon 800 f/5.6 IS lens with a full-sized DSLR body along with the lens's hood in the shooting position; a Sigma 800 f/5.6 EX or 300-800 f/5.6 lens with a full-sized DSLR body along with the lens's hood in the stowed position; and a Nikon 600 AF-S or 600 AF-S II lens with a full-sized DSLR body along with the lens's hood in the stowed position and a Don Zeck lens cap instead of Nikon's leatherette cap, and only if an adapter plate (such as the Wimberley AP-652 or AP-452 respectively) are used instead of Nikon's factory-provided feet for those lenses.

This Kinesis lens case is compatible with both the Kinesis TwinBuckle Attachment System and the Kinesis Attachment Tab System (KATS) for ease of use with Kinesis pouches, harnesses, or straps. The weather-resistant lid features a touch-tab closure for quickly removing and stowing a lens while shooting. In instances between shots where quickly withdrawing a lens is less of a priority than making sure that it sits securely within the pouch, the lid can also be shut using its buckle closure.

The exterior consists of 500 denier nylon for water-resistance. A Kinesis Y515 Heavy-Duty Padded Shoulder Strap is included to allow the case to be carried over one shoulder. Also included is a Kinesis A257 Body Pouch which can accommodate one pro-sized DSLR and can be attached to the lens case.

    Kinesis L622 reviews

L622 PolyCore Long Lens Case 600 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beast of a Case Use with a manual focus Nikon 600mm/F4. It allows the lens with camera/grip D700 (or D300) all attached, 1.4tc too. It is truly a beast of a case -- for a beast of a lens. I like the hard polycore in this case to protect the lens, I alternate with a Lowepro 600 Trekker when hiking to a shoot, but choose the Kinesis for when I want to pull out the 600mm ready to go to tripod from near roadside. I only have shoulder strap. It is solid, but the add-on $10 foam Kinesis donut is really needed when camera not attached to keep lens in place. Great for transport, back pack straps and shoulder strap, as well as the padded donut should be all inclusive. I like Kinesis, but am not crazy about having to add every little option.
