The AC-1321 Aluminum Tripod with BA-106A Ball Head from Oben is a lightweight (2.9 lb) tripod that provides reliable support for any camera and lens up to 6.6 lb.
The tripod's 3-section aluminum legs and center column extend to a maximum height of 57.5", and when folded, the entire system is a compact 23.4". Flip locks on each leg enable extremely fast deployment and retraction of leg stages. Three leg angles are possible, and pull-tab locks secure the legs in their notches. The legs' angles are independently adjustable to accommodate shooting on uneven terrain. At the widest leg angle, the tripod sits extremely close to the ground to facilitate low-angle shooting. The tripod's feet feature rubber tips which are great for shooting on slippery or hard surfaces.
The tripod's rapid center column extends with a twist of the wingnut locking knob. For protection when it's retracted quickly, there's a rubber damper that protects the center-post collar. Locking screws underneath the collar enable you to fasten the head securely to the chassis. By unscrewing the spring-loaded hook at the bottom end, the center column becomes removable and reversible, for a second method of achieving extremely low-angle shots. The center column's hook holds a counterweight, in case you need additional system stability.
The BA-106A is a simple ball head with one ratcheting locking knob to control all motion. The knob allows you to unlock the ball so that you can quickly orient your camera properly, retighten the knob, and return to shooting. This enables fast setup changes, and frees you to keep a finger on the trigger while you're making a quick adjustment to the head's orientation. The ball head has a 90° notch which facilitates shooting in portrait orientation. A bull's eye bubble level ensures your camera is level on both the horizontal and vertical axes.
The included quick-release plate attaches to your camera via its standard 1/4"-20 screw. With your camera attached to the quick-release plate, it easily snaps and locks into place on the ball head and is quickly removed by pressing the locking lever. A safety lock on the lever prevents your QR plate and camera from accidental release.
This tripod also includes a fitted, padded carry case with a removable shoulder strap, two heavy-duty zippers, and an interior zipper pocket. A tool clip with two hex wrenches for adjusting the center column and the leg joints is also included. It snaps onto any of the tripod legs for easy access.

Oben AC-1321 Aluminum Tripod with BA-106A Bal... Reviews
Check before you use
Arrived with loose connection where the weight hook is located. It caused the head to rotate freely no matter how hard I tried to tighten it. Once it found the loose connector underneath it works like it should. Also, cannot get the quick connect plate tight, no matter how tight I tighten the screw underneath. Love the ease of adjustment with a ball head compared to my old tripod.
The perfect travel tripod
I absolutely love this tripod! It's easy to travel with and sturdy enough to hold a DSLR with a 70-200.
Great buy!
Awesome tripod for the price you can't get anything close. Very nice and expensive feeling in person. Quick disconnect works perfect no issues at all . Love this thing.
Very stable and substantial!
Exceeded my expectation!
Good tripod on paper, not so much in the field
I was in the market for a new tripod to use on a rip to Oregon and read reviews for over a month on various brands and models. At work, we use a high-end Manfrotto with a ball head but it was heavy to carry. After reading all the reviews, I ordered the Oben AC-1321 aluminum tripod with BA-106A ball head. It was less expensive and lightweight, which was what I wanted for hiking to waterfalls. When I opened the box, the ball head was surprisingly small -- barely the width of my palm. The first day of my trip was to photograph 2 waterfalls, Multnomah and Latourell Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. Multnomah Falls was on a paved lookout and the tripod worked fine. For Latourell Falls, there was a small bridge over a creek that was below the falls. With the legs and center coloumn fully expanded, the Oben AC-1321 was not tall enough to be placed over the side rails of the bridge (which was chest high). I had to improvise just to set up the tripod. Expanding and turning the center column was awkward and frusrating to do. The quick-release plate on the camera would loosen when on the tripod. A fellow photographer tightened it using a quarter. Then it was so tight, I couldn't loosen it without a lot of effort. When the camera on the tripod was turned to shoot a vertical shot of the falls, the locking lever prevented the camera from getting the full view of the falls from top to bottom without zooming the lens out. Everytime I tried to set up the shot and couldn't easily get the shot I wanted, I got frustrated and wanted to chuk the tripod into the creek. On our way to the Oregon coast the next morning, we stopped at The Photo Pro store in Portland and I bought a used Manfrotto 190go for $180 ($100 more than I paid with for the Oben). I wanted a lightweight and inexpensive tripod and the Oben AC-1321 met those requirements based on the reviews I read. The Oben AC-1321 tripod with BA-106 ball head is a fairly decent tripod for a new photographer wanting to learn to shoot on a tripod. It will probably work well for studio work or group photos. But I can't recommend it for nature photography and using on uneven ground. Luckily I was within the 30-day return window. B&H was great about letting me return the tripod based on that it didn't perform to my expectations. Thanks B&H!
Father's Day Gift-He seems to like it
Bought this for my dad for Father's Day, based on all of the customer reviews. He seems to like it. Very fast shipping, I always have a good experience with BH as long as the item I am purchasing is in stock. I Would buy from them again.
Good quality reasonable price
I bought this for my teen in photography class. It is basically the one that his school supplies the kids as well. Good quality and durability. That being said, get the 2yr drops and spills warranty, you can thank me later.
Very Light
This is a great tripod for the price
