I have a Canon 90D and love it for sports and events with the joystick. However I do not want to buy the BG-E14 battery grip as it does not have a joystick,And seek for this one. The 7dmii and 90d share the same battery, and the BG-E16 should work with the 90d? Yes?
Asked by: Alberto
To clarify, I just tested this and can visually confirm the results. The battery does indeed slot in but the 1/4-20" screw does not line up with the 90D's mounting hole.

Need an extra battery tray ... is it available?
Asked by: Howard A.
Unfortunately there is no tray available yet to be sold as an accessory. I would maybe give Canon a call they would probably have the tray on hand to ship. Canon's Telephone Number: 800-828-4040 or 800-652-2666

question

does it hold Canon LP-E6 batteries?
Asked by: Anonymous
David S. says it will not accept 3rd party batteries. My experience is different. I have third party Wasabi LP-E6 batteries, and it works, and communicates with these perfectly.

question

Does the BG Battery Grip for EOS 7D Mark II fit the EOS 7D Mark I camera (original 7D)?
Asked by: Anonymous
No. Along with other misfits listed here, the biggest one (IMHO) is that the tripod screw hole is about 3 mm forward, with respect to the battery compartment, on the Mark II as compared to the original 7D.

question

I recently purchased this battery grip for my 7D2 -- I noticed that once I attach the grip and turn it on, the index finger scroll wheels (the one by the shutter release) on both the body and the grip stop working -- thumb wheel still works fine. If the grip is not attached or turned off, the index scroll wheel works fine. Defective grip, or something that I'm missing here?
Asked by: Andy
mine works very well, may be yours is defective...
