Excellent lens. I'm very satisfied with the optics, build quality and size/weight. It was between this and the 12-24 as well as the 16-35 /2.8. But for the price, this is perfect. (For wide angle /4 is enough and it makes it much lighter. 12mm is extreme and has limited use. With 35mm on this lens, I can mount it as a walk around and take decent portraits and landscape. The 12-24 still ends very wide so I need 2 lenses to walkaround. Bottom line for me: this is the winner.

I enjoy using the Sony Vario-Tessar lens on my A6000 body camera. It take clear pictures and not too heavy. I highly recommend for beginner photographers.

bought this lens for a7iii based on all the good reviews, but I was let down. I've owned it for several months and use it for real estate and landscapes. The images are so unsharp (even at f8 with focus nailed) and at 16mm the verticals are the worst I've seen (comparing to canon 16-35 2.8 ii, iii and canon 16-35 f4)
do yourself a favour and save up for the GM I wish I did

This is my first wide lens. I bought it for real estate photography. The image is crisp and clear. Pricing-wise, I'm really satisfied with the result.
Don’t let the f/4 stop you.

Don’t let the f/4 stop you from getting this lens for this is a very good and sharp lens. If you are considering an ultra wide angle lens most likely you’re planning to shoot landscape anyways where you would shoot with a higher aperture.
