  • 1Description

Bringing excellent performance in a super telephoto zoom lens, the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens, designed for Sigma SA-mount cameras, is optimized for full frame sensors and has a weatherproof construction. The lens features an aperture range from f/5-6.3 to f/22 and utilizes two FLD and three SLD elements for control over aberrations and distortion. It also features a Hyper Sonic Motor for fast, quiet autofocus and an Optical Stabilizer with an accelerometer for improved panning performance and reducing the effects of camera shake.

Built into the lens barrel are two switches, one zoom lock that can hold the lens at any focal length and a manual focus override for when more precise control is required. It also has a minimum focus distance of 102.4" and a rotatable tripod collar. It is compatible with the Sigma USB Dock for focus microadjustment and firmware updates and comes with a lens hood, case, and shoulder strap.

    Sigma 150-600mm f/5.0-6.3 reviews

150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Sigma SA is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lens I've been shooting with this lens for about 2 months now, but really got to try it out last week. Very good image quality. Surprisingly good bokeh for a f/6.3 lens and AF speed (especially using the AF limit switch). The AF is not only fast, but it very rarely hunts. The accuracy is also good. The cons are it's size and weight, but, after my trips last week, I am happy to make those trade offs for a 600 mm lens. I've hand held every shot. It can be fit in my back pack, but I've taken to traveling with it in my Pelican Storm 2500. I haven't shot with it in the elements, but it seems very well built. I really like the hard lock on at 150 mm and soft lock at other focal lengths. I am using that consistently. Also, I find myself using it more as a push/pull lens, which works well and is very smooth. The twist zoom takes some effort. But, overall, the images coming off have a bit of pop to them. Maybe not as much as my better L lenses, but so far, I am very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great reach...it’s a beast. Bought this lens with the Sigma mount. It’ll be used on my Sigma SD1 and on my Sony A7R II via the MC-11 adapter. I also have the TC-1401 and tried that with this lens AND the MC-11, which defeats the AF and and OS functions on the Sony. It’s solidly built, so by extension makes it heavy. Bigger than I imagined but the balance is good. AF in darker environments will hunt and miss. I chose the Sport version for dust proofing. On a side note, I would never buy used from B&H again. For this lens I bought a used 105mm filter for protection. The B&H website listed the item as a “9” rating but it was more like a “6” in reality. To me a near mint would be perfect glass but instead the glass had chips in it. I’m in Canada and didn’t bother with the return because the shipping would make it not worthwhile. Buyer beware.
