Offering performance and flexibility unique to the medium format world, the Leica S (Typ 007) is a medium format DSLR offering high-resolution still and video recording capabilities. Revolving around a 37.5MP 30 x 45mm CMOS sensor and Maestro II image processor, this camera is notable in its ability to produce image quality with remarkable sharpness, clarity, and dynamic range. The omission of an optical low-pass filter from the sensor's design further enables enhanced detail and resolution, that pairs well with the optimized Leica S lenses. Furthermore, on-sensor microlenses work to produce consistent and even light distribution to ensure edge-to-edge sharpness and illumination for a high degree of overall clarity. Beyond advanced still image recording, the S is also capable of producing 4K video files, as well as full HD, with a variety of options for audio and video recording. Utilizing the large sensor to the fullest extent, the S (Typ 007) is a versatile imaging device designed to deliver the utmost quality to both photographers and videographers.

question

is there any automatic self dust cleaning of the sensor?
Asked by: Leonid
There is not. You would have to if necessary remove the dust yourself or have the camera professionally cleaned (which we would highly recommend).

Stupid question but can anyone recommend the best arca swiss plate they have found for the Leica S typ 007?
Asked by: Neil
While we do not have an Arca-Swiss type quick release plate that is dedicated for use on the Leica S (Typ 007) Medium Format DSLR Camera, the Arca-Swiss Universal Camera Plate 3/8", B&H # ARUCP38, the Arca-Swiss Universal Quick Release Plate with 1/4" Screw (80mm), B&H # ARQRP80.25, and the 3 Legged Thing BASE70 Arca-Swiss Compatible 70mm Wide Quick Release Plate (Metallic Slate/Gray), B&H # 3LBASE70G, are universal Arca-type quick release plates that would be compatible for use with the Leica S (Typ 007) Medium Format DSLR Camera.

Can anyone recommend a L bracket for this camera Leica S Typ 007. RRS no longer make this bracket. Any recommendations please?
Asked by: Neil
There is not one made that is specific for the Leica S. But there are universal ones. Note those will block some of the ports on the camera including the battery cover. This is some options, https://bhpho.to/30sKu8I https://bhpho.to/3jcwd6I https://bhpho.to/3lSZwNa

question

I know the S(type007) will be compatible with other S type lenses, but to fully utilize the 007 will their need to be NEW lenses, or are they as good as it gets? Leica of course. Thank you.
Asked by: Richard S.
The current S lenses are fantastic so you will not need new lenses. In fact Leica said the current lenses would be able to handle increments of higher future sensor resolution twice the current level. Not sure if thats 80 or 120.
