    Sony 3000398 reviews

PlayStation Silver Wired Stereo Headset is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It really depends.... If you are considering to purchase this headset, hopefully this review will help you decide. Well let me just say It truly depends on the type of gamer you are. I am going to flat out state that if you want the pinpoint audio quality that will allow you to locate anything and everything around you, this may not be the headset for you. It does provide surround with, in my opinion, minimal quality. Yes I am able to distinctly tell the difference if someone is on my right or left, but I can't tell if they are in front of, or behind me. Although the audio may not be too impressive, it is appropriate for its price and I would be quick to recommend it to a friend who casually plays games. As for the actual hardware of the headset, it has its good and bad parts. The headset itself is fairly lightweight. I also really enjoyed the simplicity of connecting it to my playstation. Despite the fact that it occupies a USB port, it is very simple to get it ready for gaming. Several audio options are also available on the 'remote control' connected to the cord. The only bad thing about the hardware for me at least, is that it cannot be worn for long. It seems to irritate my ears after minutes of playing and becomes quite annoying. This headset overall has the quality that is appropriate for its price. I recommend it to all 'typical' gamers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good sound, not too comfortable. The wired headset outputted sound very clearly, and the chat mic worked quite well. My issue, and the issue that prompted me to return this headset, is the overall lack of comfort I had with the headset after about 45 minutes of use. As opposed to other headsets that have cans surrounding the ear, this model rests on top of your ears, pressing up against them relatively firmly. If someone is alright with that kind of issue, then you cannot beat the price. However, for extended computer use or gaming sessions, I have to look elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from headset This is a great deal for the money good sound. The mic was hard to activate at first. I had to Google How to turn on the unit. The plastic lever needs not only to go down but it has to click in order to have the mic on. The buttons for the sound level takes a little getting use to. I don't play as much the headset is a little tight on the head.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High and Tight Purchased this headset online for a great price primarily to be used with a Playstation 4 and specifically for Rainbow Six Siege. First off, they are super tight against the ears. So tight to the point where its so painful, however ironically, causes your ears to become slightly numb. After the first 4 hours of use, I removed the headset to find the backside of my ears were sweaty and in pain. I did what any sane person would do; Stretch the headset. I wrapped them lengthwise around a football I had and let it sit overnight. For the most part, it did the trick, but I can imagine that with the singular band construction of this headset, it'll eventually form back to its original acute position causing future head-related nuisances. As far as features go, this headset was easy to set up and had more audio options than I expected. Prefer to have a more liberating experience? Just attach the 1/8 plug directly into your controller's auxiliary port (Which also works just fine with Mac/PC). But the real magic happens when you've connected the 1/8 plug into the USB dongle (and connected to the PS4). The dongle not only adjusts the volume on the fly, but also adjusts whether or not you prefer voice chat or game volume to be more prominent over the other. Considering I play FPS games that require the proper balance of volume for both spectrums, this feature was perfect. Overall, the audio is crisp and pronounced. I've been experiencing more intricacies I couldn't hear with my former headset. On the other end, my friends noticed the subtle difference in clarity coming through their speakers. I sounded clearer to them, and not as muffled when compared to my other headset. Sure, the mic feels cheap, but it was definitely doing its job. Overall, this headset is pretty good. Sure, its tight against the ears (you've been warned), but with the audio features available, the responsive output, and the sub-$30 price tag, I'd say this is a great starter headset for anyone.
