Benro A48TD overview

  • 1Description

Reap the benefits of a monopod with the stability of a tripod using the Benro A48TD Series 4 Aluminum Monopod with 3-Leg Locking Base. Able to hold up to 44.1 lb and extend to 68.3", the A48TD Series 4 is a versatile camera support thanks to its base which provides three solid points of contact with the ground. The base acts like a mini tripod, and its ball joint allows you to smoothly pan and tilt your camera. If using a pan head on the monopod, the base's ball joint can be locked so that you can pan with the head independently, or you can replace the base with the included rubber foot. The four leg sections are secured by twist locks, and it folds down to 22.6" for transport.

    Benro A48TD reviews

A48TD Series 4 Aluminum Monopod with 3-Leg Locking Base is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, tall & versatile As someone 6'-4, the A48TD extends high enough to enable me to photograph without having to hunch. The monopod is a tad heavy, but not at all unwieldly; given the price versus a similar carbon fiber monopod, the additional weight seems worthwhile. The 3-leg base gives the A48TD a good sense of grip on grass, turf and hardwood. Paired with a Benro IB1 ball head, the monopod gives solid support for my Canon 5DIII with any L telephoto/zoom lens and still feels agile to follow any fast-moving subject. After a few hours shooting with the heavier L lenses, I see better end results using this monopod as compared with the 20-year-old monopod it is replacing. Only minor gripe with the A48TD would be the folding legs. While they lock in the down position they do not lock in the folded position.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very sturdy Monopod with 1 minor issue.. Very good monopod. Swivels very smoothly - feels good in the hand. Legs snap right into place and provide great grip on the ground. Only issue I found was that the legs don't snap into place up. Or am I missing something? Makes it a little awkward when moving things around and the legs just awkwardly fall down while you're moving to the next spot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stand Still Device Used this device on Sunday June 21st for a two camera event. I placed my Nikon 3100 on it and did move even after changing positions! I know your not suppose to leave it unsupported but its awesome that you can and the weight of the camera didn't make the tripod fall over! I look forward to using again with my Video camera next. I love the height.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great monopod except.... Strong, sturdy, absolutely well made except that the folding legs do not lock in the folded position. After using a couple of times one leg won't stay folded and just flops open. The legs do lock in the extended position. They should also lock in the folded position.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job. I use this monopod to support a speedlight for interior shots. Works great but the fold down legs don't stay in the up position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! This is the perfect monopod that I was looking for. You can go out and spend a lot more money and get a monopod that isn't as good as this. It is great for video. The legs are stable and durable. The build quality is better than I was expecting (it is very sturdy and secure). You can trust it to hold your camera and get the job done. Ive already gone out and made multiple videos and I can tell this will come along with me everywhere I go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the price It's on a heavy side (weight as much as my carbonfiber manfrotto tripod) but easier to carry and great for video shoot. I already own a video head, so this monopod made perfect sense. I decided to try twist locks and so far I am not fond of them. Locking is fine, but there is no positive feel when unlocking them. Otherwise, great tool for the price paid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monopod ! I knew nothing about Benro Monopods. However, when I went looking at Monopods, their products consistently received high marks for solid build and good performance. Now that I have mine with the Tilt Head, I couldn't agree more. I plan on taking this with me on my next travel trip out west and know I'll get great pics with it. Thank You, Benro !
