Google Chrome OS is a Linux-based operating system designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications. The Toshiba CB35-B3340 combines the aspects of a pure cloud client with the hardware of a traditional portable computer, which puts it in its very own class of netbook and notebook computers. Included with this Chromebook are a 45W AC adapter that runs using 100-240V at 50-60 Hz, a power cord, and a 3-cell / 44Wh Lithium-polymer battery that lasts for up to 9 hours before recharging is required. Also included is 100GB of Google Drive online storage that is free for 2 years.

Please note that in order to take full advantage of Chrome OS, you will need to be connected to the Internet.

Chrome OS
Using Linux as a base, Google designed Chrome OS to work exclusively with web applications. The user interface takes a minimalist approach, which greatly resembles the Google Chrome web browser. Chrome OS was built for people who spend a majority, if not all, of their time on the computer connected to the Internet. The only application that comes installed on Chrome OS is a special Google Chrome web browser with an integrated media player and file manager. All other applications are accessed by adding apps from the Google Chrome Web Store. Since Chrome OS relies entirely on Google's web apps and access to Google's services, it is highly recommended that you connect to the Internet to optimize your Chrome OS experience

    Toshiba N2840 Reviews

    13.3- 16GB Chromebook 2 (Silver) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 76.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best affordable Chromebook so far! I have owned and used several different Chromebooks, and this one is by far the best of the lot to use! While this model does not have the speediest processor out there, it is more than snappy enough to to breeze through any typical websites, play HD content, etc without missing a beat. The faster Haswell-processor-based Chromebookss might load a page a fraction of second quicker, the typical user would never see or feel the difference. And that display!! That is a huge upgrade from the previous models and makes the screen absolutely stunning and a joy to use. That and the fanless CPU, low price and incredible battery life make this the Chromebook to get.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, I recomment. Pros: Beautiful screen, great sound, great battery life, very responsive, large trackpad, and price(B&H was the cheapest). Cons: About the great looking screen, the text is a little small and takes getting use to. If you've never had Chrome OS before it also takes a little getting use to. Conclusion: I definitely recommend it. Feels pretty solid and light at the same time. Google is still working on making the OS more compatible with every ones needs. However, in the meantime I have linux running on it at the same time. Hit a combination of buttons and you have instant switching between OS's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great every day laptop received this as a gift for christmas and it's everything that i asked for in a laptop. i use google for many of my day-to-day as well as work activities and this laptop is tailored to that work. love browsing the web with this laptop as i usually leave a lot of tabs open and it still runs smoothly. also watch movies/shows on netflix/youtube and the display/sound is amazing. love the restart time on this laptop as it's nearly nonexistent. the only small negative that i have is that the battery life isn't as great as it could be, but for the price and features that come with it, it's a very minor inconvenience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleasantly surprised My middle-school daughter needed a computer for schoolwork and general-purpose entertainment (YouTube, Netflix). A Macbook seemed like overkill (and over-investment). My expectations for a Chromebook were modest, to say the least. But this unit is an extremely pleasant surprise. It's fast, the screen is excellent, the keyboard is completely satisfactory, and the trackpad works well. I'm very glad we went with this model and got the 13 screen and 4GB RAM. I suppose you could get away with an 11 screen and 2GB, but for the very reasonable extra cost, this computer is well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Experience Its only day 2 on my new Toshiba Chromebook. So far its been great.Awesome keyboard and trackpad. Amazing screen. I have to figure out how to make the text larger, and stay larger. No high cost of Apple, no frustrating windows problems, Just great computing experience. Its my first computer in quite a while, but I was easily able to create some shipping documents and print labels.I cant wait to get to know this new computing style, that seems very promising. Buying from BH was the best online purchase i've done. Duty ,taxes, and shipping all taken care of at the original purchase. The Purolator man just handed me the box and walked away. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Toshiba Chromebook TruBrite I use Google for all of my surfing and communication so the Chromebook is perfect. If I need a word processor or spreadsheet, I use Google Drive. The Chromebook is fast, a nice, manageable size and has a great display. I thought there would be a lot of glare with the display but there is not. The resolution allows a lot on the screen which makes everything pretty small but I prefer it over large font revealing less content. You can't beat the price of this lightweight, conveniently sized, speedy laptop. I'm currently a Google fan so it meets all of my expectations in a laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Chromebook of 2014 Unless you have $ - to dish out on a Google Pixel, I doubt you can find a better Chromebook than this one. I've been the 2012 Samsung Chromebook (ARM processor). The differences are simply amazing. The most glaring difference is the screen, which really must be seen to be truly appreciated. It rivals that of a MacBook Retina display. There are only a handful of Chromebooks that are full 1080p HD, this is one of them. Samsung just came out with a 1080p on their Chromebook 2 model, however they failed to upgrade their screen to an IPS panel. Instead they're using cheaper TN panels which are nowhere nearly as bright or vivid. The resolution on this laptop is incredible. Sharp, clean picture without washed out colors like on my Samsung. The viewing angle is also much wider. It's also packed with 4GB of RAM, unlike my Samsung which only has 2GB. I've run it with over a dozen open tabs including Youtube and Netflix, and there's no lag. There are no cooling fans, so it's super quiet. It does get warmer than my Samsung but you can barely notice it. The Skullcandy speakers are impressive, they have some amazing sound and base to them. I had them cranked only at 15% and it was pretty loud. Bottom line is, if you're shopping around for a new laptop for browsing, email, watching videos, listening to music, etc... THIS IS THE ONE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bang for the buck laptop Best screen on any laptop I've ever used (which have been various T- and X-series Thinkpads since the late 90s). The audio is clear and loud. Fast boot time. 8 hour battery life. I briefly tested the webcam via Skype for Linux and it seems fine.Any limitations I've encountered with Chrome OS, I've been able to work around by either Remote Desktop'ing to a Windows machine OR running crouton + Linux and the Linux version of the software (e.g. printing to a network HP printer - HPLIP, VPN, Skype, (older version) Acrobat Reader 9.5, alternate browsers like Firefox, XBMC/Kodi, etc.) If you need Microsoft Office just use Microsoft Office Online (the web-based version of Word, Excel and PowerPoint) or you can try Linux + Wine + Office 2010 (32-bit).

    question

What is the best processor for the chrome-books? 1.7 GHz, 2.1 GHz, or 2.16GHz?
    Asked by: Hunter T.
More important than speed of CPU is the type of CPU!!I don't buy anything less than an Intel 3205U.If you have money to burn, you can even buy a Chromebook with an Intel i3 or m3, i5 or m5, i7 or m7 CPU -- just expect to pay a lot for them!I have the R13 Chromebook, & it is fast enough for everything that I do, & I'm a Techie , so I am a fairly demanding computer user.
