The M2 comes with JetEffect 5, a comprehensive suite of audio enhancements, reverb effects, and equalizer settings. To more faithfully reproduce sound, it also includes a BBE+ circuit, which compensates for phase delay and prevents extreme high and low frequencies from being washed out.
The user interface is fully customizable, allowing you to set up your M2 to meet your specific needs. The M2 displays videos and photos as well as text files, enabling a full multimedia experience. A built-in speaker allows you to listen with friends, a microphone enables recording voice and music, and the FM radio lets you stay up-to-date with news and music around the world. The M2 charges and transfers data via the included USB cable.

BBE+ Circuit
All music played through speakers or headphones suffers from subtle distortions caused by the inherent characteristics of the loudspeaker itself. The BB+ circuit addresses these problems by compensating for phase and amplitude distortions. It achieves this by adjusting the phase relationships between low, mid, and high frequencies. It also boosts the extreme high and low frequencies, which tend to pose problems for loudspeakers and headphones. This augmentation, when combined with phase compensation, results in a clearer, more true-to-life sound.

Daily Life UI
The Cowon M2's user interface changes automatically as time passes throughout the day. You can also choose the UI style of a specific time or a simple digital clock to display the time. Swiping the display vertically brings up four different menu screens.

Matrix Browser
Touch the Matrix Browser icon to see album art from 10 albums at once. Scroll sideways to view more, and touch any album for immediate playback.

Rotation
Touch the Rotation icon to flip your screen 180°.

Video Playback
The M2 supports AVI, WMV, and ASF video files in Xvid SP/ASP and WMV 7/8/9 codecs as well as SMI subtitles.
Video Clip Preview
Touch the eye-shaped icon on the upper left-hand side of the screen while watching a video to scan through up to 15 scenes. Video Clip Preview enables you to choose a video you want to watch through easy browsing.
Photo Viewing
Save, share, and view your favorite pictures with the 16 million color display. The M2 also functions as a digital photo frame, so you can create your own slideshow.
Document Viewer with Auto Scroll
Read e-books, articles, and notes by using Text Viewer. Auto Scroll keeps the text moving for you, so you don't have to manually scroll through your document as you read.
