The Sentech STC-HD203SDI Color HD-SDI Camera is a surprisingly controllable HD camera in a small, form factor. Essentially a board camera in a case with a C mount, the unit is less than two inches square, only slightly larger than the C mount itself. It is appropriate for use as a machine vision camera or any application that requires a direct connection to a monitor for viewing. The camera outputs 1080p video at 30, 50, 59.94, and 60 fps, which allows it to easily integrate into a broadcast infrastructure that requires interlaced compatible frame rates, as well as a progressive workflow. Featuring a 1/2.8" Sony CMOs sensor with a rolling shutter, the sensor is compatible with most optional C mount lenses. The sensor features a rolling shutter and 28 programmable DSP profiles. The camera is controlled though an OSD (On Screen Display) menu system or via RS-232 when connected to a computer, or a push-button system mounted on the camera.
Small in size but big on features, this camera is suitable for machine vision applications as well as other applications that require a small camera that requires little to no human interaction, such as security applications. This camera is not designed as a video production camera.
You can control the camera by connecting it to an optional wired hand held remote control unit that interfaces with the camera's OSD menu system. This requires connecting the camera to a monitor. Manual control of the camera is available by using the push-button interface on the back of the camera and the OSD, this also requires you to connect the camera to a monitor so that you may view and interact with the OSD. You can also connect the camera to an optional RS-232 communication jig, which allows you to setup and control the camera via your computer.
This small camera features a variety of functions and settings including:
