NewTek FG-000879-R001 reviews

TriCaster Mini HDMI Cable Kit (4-Pack, 100') is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two boxes of junk My name is Tom Bares, I'm the lead production teacher at Gilmour Academy, in Cleveland, OH. We purchased two boxes of new tech branded cables back in March, when the TriCaster mini came out. Right out of the box, 5 of the cables, and ends, that literally just slipped right off. Don't believe the gold plating, after two months, it's faded and already pitting. Here's the big surprise... plugged into the TriCaster many? Only half of the inputs will accept them, and none of the outputs work over these cables. Our GH4 works, our Sony and Cannon cameras do not. Huge disappointment, on all levels. Avoid unless you want grief. And just to qualify myself as an idiot, if you head over to Wikipedia and look up linear editing. That's my picture. I've been doing this for over 30 years, with a 400 national commercial demo reel, - Emmys, + 700 corporate programs. We used a Blackblox HDMI signal generator, which I invested over $ on, and use the black magic UltraScope, with a TV 1 2855 scalar injected in between, so I could look at things on a scope, as well as the TriCaster. These cables are garbage. ----------------

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HDMI Fails Again First of all, I hate HDMI, it is made for plugging a bluray into a TV and never touching it so it is partially my fault for purchasing a HDMI system, but it what our budget and current cameras allowed for. We use these cables with a tricaster mini. They failed us at our biggest event of the year. Everything worked during load out testing and setup testing. On the day 2 out of 4 cables did not work. During load in testing, the cables worked again. The only factor during the event was rain. All connections and ports were sealed so I could only conclude that the cables are NOT waterproof. These cables are also VERY stiff. Traditional cable wrapping methods do not work on these cables. You must essentially roll up the cable. They feel like bailing wire. The connectors housings are cheap plastic. One broke the first time we used it and we lost a piece so now it is even a less secure connection. Dont know if there are many 100+ft hdmi options out there but if you must use these cables, I highly reccomend short soft jumper cables for both ends so they dont tear out the ports. Avoid HDMI!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely awful What a waste of money. Most of the connectors have come loose or broken after only a few months of use. Definitely NOT for use where they need to be moved. They are overly inflexible and hard to coil or wrap for remote uses. DON'T BUY THEM! In fact, you can have mine for a lot less.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from stiff and fragile These cables are awful. They are Impossible to wrap; the end casings immediately all fell off; 2 out of 4 ever worked, currently only 1 works.
